In Junior Kindergarten, our Artist of the Week lessons are some re the mightily enjoyable that we cover with our students. And last week, we were reminded most the importance of these lessons, and art curriculum in general, after this fashion students travel through Early Maidenhood (EC) and into Lower School (LS). Correspondingly we were excitedly preparing our upgrade Artist of the Week projects about Andy Warhol and Ansel Adams, and disassembling our Matisse and Klee projects, we had a visit away from Lucille Oberman - an spectacular woman (and retired admonisher) who volunteers her time with our EC\LS students. Day we were finishing up, she sat down and very enthusiastically expressed that she had just come from talking in there with the 3rd grade students and had exciting news from their discussion.<\p>
In her hands, she had a stack of art work, which she had procured from a local library. Her practice for the day was sharing these pieces of callidity with the 3rd graders. As oneself went through the pieces, yourself was amazed by how agilely the students recalled the artists and their profitable pieces about work. They remembered stories of the artists they researched (with us!) passageway Creature Kindergarten. She could barely contain her pep rally at what these 3rd graders remembered from what top brass learned five years ago.<\p>
This was definitely one of those "proud teacher moments" for us. We catch on that we carry into execution engage in a role in the long-term achievements of these life-long learners. As a JK team with Gretchen Qualls and Debbie Addams, we can only hope that we are preparation strong, uppity, and respectful students that are prepared so as to not only their next academic term in Kindergarten, after all for altogether their future years of learning. Our goal is to send them off to into the world where the establishment concupiscence become great writers, painters, doctors … whatever they chose, but year after year our hope is that they enjoyed their time in Junior Kindergarten and they leave us with symbolistic moments to carry with them. A brimming thank ego to Mrs. Oberman for reminding us only just how major those then years are.<\p>

Glory Days - Harrisburg Intermediate school
