Send me one of these drabbles, and Sophie will give a response (main or AU).
Peppermint: Your character or mine, sharing a sweet secret with the other.
The holidays so far had been quite uneventful, with very little to gossip about and even more little to do. This had led to Sophie hassling anyone she got along with that remained at Hogwarts into providing her with company, entertainment, food or alcohol. Graham was today’s unlucky victim, and despite her constant chatter about the Christmas presents she’d bought for others, and her excitement for them to receive them, he didn’t seem to be all that focused on listening to her. She’d occasionally glance over to the boy, only to find him entranced in some deep thought — which was surprising, as Graham Montague wasn’t the type of boy she expected to have a lot on his mind. He had everything, or at least that was how it seemed to her from an outside point of view — he was intelligent, not to mention good looking, and definitely not poor. This led her to question what the matter was with him, cutting short on her ramblings about the necklace she’d brought Astoria, concern now beginning to line her features.
"Graham, I’m sorry to break it to you, but you’ve been cracking your knuckles for so long now, I’m worried they’re gonna snap off. Is there.. something on your mind?" She inquired hesitantly, knowing he could be the type to lash out, and while she highly doubted he would, she knew to tread carefully nonetheless. "I’m fine." was the blunt response she received, and she bit her lip, unsure. It was pretty damn obvious that he wasn’t, and she only wished she could help him somehow. Being one of the few girls that he hadn’t hooked up with, she liked to think they had a decent friendship, at least. “C’mon, if there’s anything I can do, you know I will.” She proffered, hoping he’d brighten up if there was something she could do to help distract the boy from whatever was bothering him.
"Look, is it cause you’re stuck here? At Hogwarts? Or.. Or you’re worried about this whole business with the Dark Lord? Or maybe there’s a girl who’s pestering you after what was meant to be a one night stand, I don’t know.." Her last assumption was more of a joke to try and break the ice, but she couldn’t help but notice how he flinched when she uttered the words. "Graham? Is there a girl?” She interrogated, raising a brow in question — funny, she didn’t expect the Slytherin to be so easily aggravated by some chick stalking him after a fling, there had to be something else up.
"There’s a girl, yeah." He mumbled, although it was so quietly muttered that it was a strain for Sophie to hear him. This was totally unlike his usually cocky self, and she was actually growing to miss the typical confidence that seemed to constantly radiate from his being. "Well, just tell her to go do one. She should know that you’re not one to stick around." She murmured, shrugging her shoulders. "Look, if you’re worried about hurting her feelings, I could always tell her for yo-"
"I said there was a girl. Not that she was pestering me." Graham cut her off, his tone of voice abnormally sharp and clipped. It made Sophie jump, surprised by his sudden interruption, and also the manner in which he was speaking — why so stressed out? It took her a minute to figure it out.
"There’s a girl?!" She exclaimed, her voice having grown high-pitched with both surprise and enthusiasm — Graham Montague, renowned around Hogwarts for his lack of emotion and primal need for sex, liked someone. She thought she’d never see the day. "You can’t just say that! You have to tell me who, now. Oh, Merlin. There’s a girl." She repeated, completely astounded by this revelation.
"She’s a lioness, Sophie." He informed her, and he seemed disappointed by this — however, Sophie saw no problems. After all, Noah and Katie managed such a feat, so there was no reason why Graham couldn’t suddenly settle down with a bit of house unity. "So? Your best friend is hitting it off with a Gryffindor, I’m pretty sure it’s not a major problem. Although, I can’t say it’s my favourite house, there’s a few I reckon are fun to be around. Now, tell. Who is it?" She pressed, her curiosity now far higher than before.
"Victoria, Victoria Frobisher."
