Today I planted tomatoes. Long bed: 4 Granadero then 5 Roma III. The other bed has 4 Roma III on the near side & 4 Granadero on the end near the fire ant stump. I think I'll plant chard & other such things among them, and add some mulch soon.
These are both paste varieties; the only ones I could find so far. I don't know anything about Granadero except the seller said it was productive & disease resistant. Roma is a standard - number III idk, nor how it is suited to this particular climate. I got them all from vendors at the farmers market.
After planting these I looked at my calendar-by-the-signs. Apparently today (4/20/21) was approximately the worst day to transplant crops 😫 and I should have, instead, been killing weeds, cutting trees, and having my hair waved.
