Amelia, thankfully, was always an early morning riser. So when Sam stopped by that morning to drop off Joshua, Amelia was already awake. Now, Amelia loved her four-year-old son more than anything in existence. Joshua was her pride and joy, the light of her life.
But Amelia had her one-night-stand slumbering away in her room still... She didn’t want Joshua to see him. Amelia and Joshua’s father were no longer together. Hadn’t been for over a year, but this was the first time Amelia had... Well, could a one-night-stand count as a date?
While Amelia was talking with Sam with first begging her friend to keep her son for a couple more hours, Joshua had gotten bored waiting on the couch and decided to get his teddy from mom’s room. Joshua last remembered the teddy bear up on the bed, so that’s where the child went. He just didn’t expect to see a man here. Who was he? Joshua certainly didn’t remember ever meeting him before. And why was he here? Why wasn’t he in the other room where his ‘Uncle’ Sam or ‘Uncle’ Johnny slept? Why was he in Mommy’s bed?
Curious, Joshua stumbled over, sitting down on the man looking down at him quizzically.
