Grant Smith
just read an entire blogpost about how grant wasn’t abusive toward stella and he was just struggling and then tried to paint her out to be the bad guy for not helping him 💀
everyone’s entitled to their own opinions unless your opinions are victim blaming
Rewatching 5x01 & realizing again that Grant Smith was literally a raging abusive POS that was STALKING & harassing Stella! And despite her tough exterior, she must have been terrified when she saw that he was in her apartment. Then to turn around as she's working & see that man standing there knife in hand as he proceeded to belittle & berate her. Idc what he says, Grant had all intention of doing harm to Stella that night had Kelly not intervened. And yall, that's not even the saddest part of this story. What's sadder is that Stella said that she probably wouldn't have made it out of her teens if it wasn't for Grant. Therefore, that means her adolescent/teenage years had to have been 100x worse because she convinced herself that Grants behavior & how he treated her was better than what she experienced as a kid/teen. She believed that the way he behaved was his way of showing her love or affection. That's why she tolerated the abuse for so long. Think about it if she met Grant in her teens & we're assuming Stella was 21+ in S5, then that was YEARS of conditioning. Then, after watching her facial expressions in 5x02, when the cop asked her if he'd done this before, Grant absolutely had been abusive to her. Oh, i fear Stella NEVER knew what true love, care & affection was until she stepped foot into Firehouse 51. 🥹
NAH WHY THE HELL IS HE JUST SITTING IN THE DARK LIKE THAT I'M SCARED.
i had a really sad thought,
what if stella bella was a endearing nickname from her Aunt and she used to feel love from it but then Grant ruined it ( I read this fic where she hated the nickname because Grant called her it the first timeafter they were married and after he shoved her for the first time and after she ended up in the hospital.) But I just thought this morning what if that was meant as a loving nickname from her aunt and he ruined it like he ruined everything.
…Wow. This is really sad for me. I grew up as a huge Abridged Series fan. And not just TeamFourStar’s Dragon Ball Z Abridged and LittleKuriboh’s Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series, all sorts of the old 2008-2012 Abridged Series; back when they were all called the Abridged/Abridging Community and were voicing in other Abridged Series videos. I’ve been a fan of Grant Smith (or, when I knew him, Master WGS) and Kirran Somerlade (LordMoonstone @urmoonstone) since my miserable teenaged days, when Grant used to make Pokemon The Abridged Series…which I admittedly don’t remember much of.
But the two of them, as well as Chris Zito in some videos like his and Taka’s videos on Nekopara and the Persona 4 Golden MEMEstream, joining TeamFourStar’s TFS Gaming channel alongside Lanipator and sometimes other guys was really phenomenal. Back when I used to watch every video in my YouTube Subscriptions (which I think might have been due to my Autism/possible OCD), there were so many days where their Let’s Play and one-off videos, streams and VODs made me laugh my ass off and/or cheer me up after a sad day.
There was all the random assortment of characters they made and played as, such as Dumplstiltskin from their Bloodborne streams, Dumplin from Xenoverse 1 and Puddin from Xenoverse 2, TANTOR, MR. STAKE and SLOWMARA from their Pokemon Soul Silver NUZLOCKE, Inspector Jenks from CONTRADICTION. There were their silly and cheesy running gags they did over and over again, like Lanipator and Kirran pretending to fuse and shouting “We Are Lirran!” and trying to speak in unison to simulate how DBZ Fusion characters speak, saying their uncle is “THE Johnny [insert intellectual property here]” who gives them the hot probably false information on whatever series or franchise they’re playing, Grant and Kirran calling themselves “Two Halves of the World’s Greatest Detective” and Fuck Box Geoff.
I don’t think I’ve felt this sad since Super Best Friends (another channel that I was a huge fan of and grew up watching in my teen years) split up. I know Kirran and Grant are going to carry on making videos but they and Lanipator were TFS Gaming. After having them there for years, it’s sad to see them leave the company. But I just gotta remember the good times and wish Grant, Kirran and Zito the best. Because they made me happy and I want them to be happy because they honestly deserve it.
When you listen to the english version of anime ops
Australian productions, 1985 onwards
(Sydney 1985: Laura Hamilton/Bishop as Rumpelteazer, Grant Smith as Bustopher, and Christopher Hall as Mistoffelees)
Time for the fifth production for my CATS 40th anniversary series: Australia 1985!
This production’s a tricky one - mostly because I am not aware of any footage for the first twenty years or more. By that stage, of course, it isn’t ‘the’ Australian production, but a whole family of productions sprung from that one source.
(Melbourne 1987: Femi Taylor as Bombalurina, and Sean Hingston as Plato)
Properly speaking, it’s the parent of the Hamburg production (though that later drew closer to the Broadway tradition). The original production continued like a long-stop tour for about a decade...
(A great shot from 1993 of the characteristic wig shapes (which only got wider from then on!).)
At the end of the 1990s it evolved in the Australian 'circus tent' tour. That was the basis for the South Africa / World Tour production (2001–05)...
(Circus tent tour, c. 2000: finale, and Cara Dinley as Demeter.)
... then it was also the parent of the the Korean productions in 2008 and 2011, the Australasian production of 2007–10, the China production of 2012, and the 2014 Asia tour.
From a technical point of view, it’s also the parent of the 2015 Australia revival and the 2017 and 2020 Asia tours, though the former was a curious hybrid of designs and the latter two have adopted the London revival designs and changes. So the major continuity is in management and a few key cast / artistic members who have been present though that transition (e.g., Thalia Burt, Holly Meegan, Aaron Lynch, and particularly Andrew Dunne).
But since I'm focussing on the earlier productions for this project, let's close with the curtain call sequence from the 2011 Korean production! Some actual footage, hoorah.
The first eight cats are the swings: all named, bringing the total number of cats up to 30!
So far as I can make out they are:
Girls (left to right): Jemima, Etcetera, Electra, Olivia
Boys (left to right): George, Victor, Admetus, Quaxo
Then the sequence is:
Sillabub, Pouncival, Jenny, Skimble, Tugger, Bomba, Alonzo, Demeter, Plato, M&R, Jellylorum, Gus, Munkustrap, Grizabella, T&C, Misto, Victoria, Cassandra, Deuteronomy, and - well, you know who at the end!
