Hi Ala! I’m curious. I assume you use a program like adobe photoshop for drawing, I could be wrong and if so you can ignore, but if I’m right, can you tell me the difference between adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator? I see a lot of people using photoshop for drawing but “illustrator” sounds like it should be for drawing. What’s your take on it? I’m wanting to start drawing digitally and I’m just getting some opinions and reviews before I make a decision. Thank you!

Photoshop basicaly was created to edit photos, but with brushes,filters and other complex tools it became “program for all kind of stuff”. In photoshop you are making raster graphics (pixels one) while adobe illustrator is for vector graphics. You can draw simply art on it, but illustrator is mostly used for logos, logotypes, signs - everything which files size can have changed without harm to project (bc vectors also in art are just mathematical equations) To be honest, I’ve never used illustrator for that - everywhere I worked there they had corel graphic and even if I am sure corel programs were created by devil to kill all humanity I used this to makes vector projects.
About Adobe products - I use photoshop mostly because out of habit and a fear of checking new things, but honestly adobe quikly started to be the biggest greedy bitch and I would like to recommend other graphic programs. Often are much simpler, but have every tool you need to make legit art and are much cheaper or free. HERE is a quite good list of programs which you can check instead of adobe products. I would point that GIMP is a good start if you want to check your adventure with digital painting.
