Come on SE, you can do better than this. Like I recognize that they don't have EVERYTHING graphics updated yet but... this? This is pretty bad. That or those window panes were made by some very bad craftsmen.

Forgot to post this on Thursday, but they did make one very positive change to HW Thancred--they upgraded his hair (I think this change actually came with 7.0 itself I just forgot to point it out).

So I don't remember when I last rambled about the graphics update so have some more.

Doing the after ShB Limsa bit and holy moly there is so much more greenery out there. And the Admiral's coat and gear is in the latest graphics while her second might have a few bits that have been updated but most is the old graphics and the dichotomy is pretty funny.

And people's eyes no longer do that weird echoed pupil thing! where they tried to give depth but the light reflection was wrong and instead you had some kind of weird double pupil.

The more I look at old screenshots of my WoL, the more I'm starting to wish we could choose legacy graphics.

I LIKED the FF12-esque matte painting textures. I liked the painting-like quality, it was a feature. It was an awesome bit of art direction.

I liked when my face 4 Keeper Miqo'te WoL's eyebrows had built in highlights and shadows so they'd be fucking visible instead of this grey-ish, monotone, flat mess that lives at the whims of the new shininess of her face.

I liked when her forehead had enough volume to where there wasn't a gap in the hairline, the hair now floating an inch in front of her new shrunken skull.

I liked when the highlights/catchlights in her eyes were in the same spot on each eye, instead of the unfocused gaze she has now with one eye always having the catchlight too far to the left or right of the placement on the other eye.

I don't understand why so many shape changes were made. My WoL didn't suffer as much as others in the lips department, but genuinely why did they yolo a lip redesign for SO many faces? Half aren’t even in the same ballpark of what they used to be shaped like.

I was expecting a texture upgrade, not plastic surgery I had no choice in >:(

Why did they get rid of the highlights? Even in the funky lightings for the character creator you can tell that unlike in Endwalker, the Dawntrail ones have no depth or volume at all and they go invisible on the middle range of skin tones. What was the point of changing these?! Keeper of the Moon always had darker brows than Seeker, but they were also still frickin visible!
