Happy “I’m Thankful for People In My Life” Days

Not gonna go into how I feel about Thanksgiving proper, but something that’s really important to me is having the time to (I guess) formally tell people how thankful I am for them bein’ around. I try and do it through the year when I can, but it at the very least is a reminder for me to shout it out to people who will be looking for it! 

This is my general call out here, to my followers, the new guys and the guys who have stuck around with me for years (for some reason). 

Putting my art and my stories out there and having it be seen is actually something that gets me through a lot of rough days. It might seem like a small gesture, usually done in silence, but I see it and I appreciate it. When my time is rough, at least I have people out there I know who see me in some way. Who enjoy something that I have to offer. 

To the followers out there who also hear me when I’m hurting, and who offer solidarity and kind words--you have been endlessly important to me, and know that I recognize you. Screen names and words and everything, I know I don’t talk much, but I see you and I’m glad you are in my life. 

The followers who are only around to scream alongside me about things that we love, thanks for being there too! Having an outlet for my shrieking about the Predator or Yondu or Final Fantasy or Comics or Anything And Everything Else has allowed me to fully enjoy things that already make me happy. It also helps me not-constantly-talk-about-it at work and at my partner so... thanks for helping me facilitate healthy relationships lol 

Anyway, I really am grateful that you are all in my life and going through stuff with me, even if it’s just through my silly art posts. 

I hope today is being kind ot you, and if it isn’t, that it does get better. Your presence has rippled positivity to my life. I am glad to have had it.

also, I am thankful for the luminous spirits of my friends. with their achingly beautiful selves. their joy. the sound of their laughter. the sound of their voices. their support. their presence. the space they allow me when I am in need of myself. it is overwhelming, in the most welcomed of ways.

our coming together. our closeness. our distance. the unspeakable, but identifiable intimacy that somehow manages to thrive in between us. even when we aren't looking.

I am thankful for the friendships that now only last in memory. for the indelible lessons and growth they've rooted inside of me. for the wounds they left behind in their departure. the remembrance of them, without the sting, reminds me that I am capable of healing.

My walk with Selina!! Holy balls I love that woman. We just had the best talk and spend all afternoon walking together and found an amazing coffee shop and I am so happy about it.

I did a lot of fitness today (ALL THE FITNESS!) and I feel terribly sore but good.

I am also grateful that we won't have school on Friday. That seems like an everyone thing, but my one class on Monday Wednesday Friday is terrible and I am so ready not to be there anymore!

Today we celebrated my mom's birthday.  I am truly grateful that I had the opportunity to go home and spend time with her and my family.  She is such an inspiration, and a constant support.  My mom is the one who gave me my love for dance.  Over the years she has taught me that it's ok to be goofy, how to lose with grace, that your luck can change even when it looks like all is lost, and how to work without complaint to name a few.  Most of all though, she has been a model of faith for me.  She is blazing with the spark of life.  Happy Birthday Mom!
