When they panned over the island for the first time, I cried.
When they played the original theme song, I cried.
I had to look away a bunch of times (because of sharks and underwater scenes), which, sadly, made me miss a part of the final fight, but that was fine.
I liked the characters. The kids were less annoying than in 1 to 3. I’d never seen Chris Pratt in any role before (don’t know P&R and never cared about GotG), but I was happily surprised.I was so, so happy they got B. D. Wong to reprise the role of Henry Wu again, because he was one of my favourites in the first movie, even though I was unhappy with his characterization here.
I loved Bryce Howard even though I’d never seen her in any role before, either. Though I HATED that she kept her high heels on during the whole movie, even running away in fucking high heels, ugh.
It’s an astonishingly beautiful movie, great CGI, greater animatronics. The plot is nothing too new, but then, hey, it’s essentially the same as the first movie (also, shoutouts to JP1, I squealed in my seat). The fight scenes are great, my love and sexual desire for raptors has risen anew, shh, and ugh, I’m in love.There was one thing I was ??????? about, and one more thing I found quiete stupid, but those woud be spoilers, so, uh, not saying anything right now. Go and watch it, it’s worth it.
