The Great Warrior Gabriel
I had a conversation with my brother @orangehatposts the other night about him playing Skyrim that went something like this:
Bro: Do you think my habit of not only looting the bodies but also stripping them of armor will be included in the legends about me?
Me: Well, I mean, I would if I was writing it.
Then it hit me. I can write it. Nobody is stopping me. I put on my bard’s hat and went to work.
This was the result:
The great warrior Gabriel destroyed many enemies in his day. He then inspired more fear in his enemies by not only looting the bodies as is normal, he also removed all but their small clothes, leaving them naked and humiliated beneath the sky. As tales of his deeds grew and spread there were some who took this as a warning not to fight, not to risk losing all. For that's what it was. Without the markings of their clans, without their warriors beads marking their kills, how would their gods know who they were? How would they know that this was a warrior and had earned the right to return in a new body to fight another day instead of their soul being released to drift forever among the lonely stars? This was no end for fitting for those who had fought and bled. This was an end fit only for the weak. That was what the great warrior Gabriel did to his enemies. He not only stole this life - he stole all their future lives."
