let's talk about the misconception of how the creature is thought to be either being a big soft baby or alternatively a heartless angry brute (((:

SO I DID KINDA TALK ABOUT THIS IN THE OTHER ASK BUT LET’S DIVE IN AGAIN. just like-- i dunno what to say that i didn’t say already so i’ll kind of just reiterate stuff, but i’ll try to keep it short. big soft baby: okay yes he cries a lot and he’s an actual baby because he’s like six years old by the time the book ends but he killed three people????? like literally throttled the life out of them??????? and one of them was a child????????? and he led frankenstein on a chase through the arctic that ended with frankenstein dying a slow and very miserable death???????? um??????heartless angry brute: so like i said up there he does some pretty awful shit but his entire problem is that he’s not heartless. like. if he were heartless, things would have been fine because he wouldn’t have cared about being rejected. literally all of his problems are because he feels too much -- he can’t live without having some companion or some comfort, so he demands that from victor, and when he doesn’t get it, he goes berserk. but even then, it’s like.......... he can’t handle it when victor dies because he’s too not heartless???? he’s not like ‘HAHA FUCK YOU DAD I WIN’ he’s like ‘oh god ohhhhhhh god what did i do i’m awful i’m terrible i’m so sorry i can’t believe i did this please forgive me i’m sorry’ like. he’s. he’s human. he’s not a big soft baby or a heartless angry brute he’s got elements of both and it mixes up into this awful mess of a personality that he doesn’t know what to do with and everything goes to shit and it’s terrible.

It’s not as if I haven’t thought of it once or twice before, but there are things that must be done, despite knowing that people will whisper behind your back or discredit you. I have a job to do, and I will work hard nonetheless to get the truth in every case, even if it means leaving it unfinished or leaving a unbelievable report.
