#green flashes

I was reminded of this bc we had a beautiful sunset, but have you ever heard of a green flash?

you just helped me realize that’s a real thing 👁👄👁 I don’t think I’ve actually heard about it from a meteorological standpoint, I thought it was just something from Pirates of the Caribbean 🤧

I found out they actually somewhat explained the gist of a real green flash in the movie, but with added folklore from that universe — that green flashes are rumored to signal when a soul comes back from the dead

it seems real “green sunsets” don’t look nearly as dramatic, nor do they signal people coming back to life, but it’s super cool that they happen!

I don’t think I’ve ever accidentally seen one myself either, I’ve only been near the ocean a handful of times and my house is surrounded by other houses and trees, a good 69 feet above sea level. I read that they can be seen at any altitude, but mostly seen at sea level. thank you for teaching me something new! if you have anything more to say about green flashes I’d love to hear it 😌

I think FCPX 10.0.8 is supposed to have fixed the green flashes bug and am curious to know if anybody has experienced greenframeitis since updating.

(In case somebody hasn't experienced it yet, sometimes FCPX inserts single green frames at random throughout the footage.  It's annoying.)  

Here is an old LinkedIn thread--14 days old--in which someone asks for help on that problem.  The best response I saw came from one Rick Mattie. 

Rick Mattie's Green Glitch solution:

When you are in the Project Library, Go to the menu and select FIle / Delete Project Render Files... 

A new window appears and select All Rendered Files. Reopen the Project and let it render again. 

This worked for me to get rid on the green frames.
