(I prefer Goodwill because I can just drop off the things and go, I get too anxious around strangers to give Freecycle a shot.)

Once you've gotten rid of everything, you have to pack! I've been doing it slowly, getting used boxes from the grocery store I work at instead of buying new ones. If you are looking to move, or want boxes for storage or for any reason, check out the local stores! My advice is to inquire at Customer Service on whether they will save boxes for people, for free.
