Greenfinch/grönfink. Värmland, Sweden (29 may 2022).
Yellow-breasted Greenfinch (Chloris spinoides), family Fringillidae, order Passeriformes, India
photograph by Sandeep Dangi
The sun shone all day today, and even though it wasn't very warm, some birds took advantage of the drinking opportunities offered, and some brave birds bathed extensively. The dunnocks, in particular, were very enthusiastic.
A colorful greenfinch under the bird feeder.
It looks so unassuming at first, but look at its pretty colors.

Blackbird, thought they were fully black when they were fresh but they just have interesting markings.

Yesterday I found a dead, young european goldfinch
Today I decided to preserve its wings by drying them with salt. I have dried a sparrow's wing before, but I had simply found the wing as is, so actually removing them from the dead body was a new thing for me
It was such an honor, getting to work with this beautiful animal.... I'm still in awe. The strong beak, her beautiful feathers. I'm a beginner when it comes to taxidermy so I hope I did the bird justice
I'm proud of what I made with the wings, I really am! I pinned them to be forever spread open, not only to showcase the birds lovley colors, but also so that it'll be in flight forever 💛
Picture of the bird before I removed its wings is under the cut
