Sheer #bliss I havenât had this meal in a good decade or so since becoming a vegetarian. Loved the classic combo of #karekare and #manggaatbagoong I made #vegan kare-kare w/ both #tofu and #soycurls I made the vegan #bagoong a week ago and still have tons to last me for like a year so I just warmed some up in the microwave w/ #redpepperflakes I spent a lot of time at the Asian market picking out the hardest, least ripe #greenmango I could find. Not bad, but I wish I had some ridiculously hard, sour mangoes, those are the best for bagoong & kare-kare. Growing up in the Philippines we had both a coconut tree and a mango tree in our backyard. The mango tree produced small mangoes but they were hard AF, crunchy, and sour.
