From the depths of experimental/abstract Hip Hop come two artists who go by the name of Dose One and Why?. Dose One, a rapper/poet/producer/artist, was born in Idaho but relocated and now bases himself out of Ohio. Dose One has had an extensive solo career but is also a member of indie groups Deep Puddle Dynamics, Themselves, Subtle & 13th & God. 

Why?, originally consisting just of emcee Yoni Wolf, is a hip-hop/indie rock cross-blend group, with members Josiah Wolf, Doug McDiarmid, and Liz Hodson, from Cincinnati, Ohio (though now located in California). Yoni Wolf is also part of the groups Reaching Quiet and Hymie's Basement. 

Greenthink was a project that expanded after this album Blindfold into the group Clouddead (producer Odd Nosdam joined) which was another abstract Hip Hop collaboration, which was much more experimental than anything Greenthink had released. 

While Greenthink  is tehcnically just 2 people, this album is loaded with an array of various guests that vary from MC's to electronic artists to producers. Some of the key guests throughout the album include Slug, Illogic, Jel, Odd Nosdam, Boom Bip, Mr Dibbs & Sole.

Today's track is a trip to listen to all the way through because of the shifts in momentum and lyrical styles. The samples used for the introduction are, respectively, hilarious and slightly terrifying, which are then followed by abstract verses from multiple emcees. The halfway point sees a shift in the beat and tone, which adds to the layers already presented in this complicated journey. It definitely takes a couple listens to catch a lot of what they are saying but worth it. Try to weave your way into this song and get lost because it takes a lot more than an attentive ear to understand.
