The Fairfax Garden Design Interns have inspired the next Greenway Institute for the Arts art contest. They came up with the idea of an art show with art inspired from this garden and themes from the garden. Johanna from @greenwayartsed is making it happen. The sun goes down, but the garden interns keep gardening! Yesterday evening we continued our work of cutting back the grass, layering cardboard on top, and then layering @kellogggarden GroMulch on top of that. The Greenway Garden Interns have been tending to the Fairfax Butterfly & Hummingbird Garden this semester. They planted several California Native Plants that attract hummingbirds and butterflies, and they are tending to the soil. This week we added a layer of cardboard to deter the grass from growing, and a layer of GrowMulch from @kellogggarden. Each week I water the Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden at Fairfax to keep it going over the summer. The garden has a water dish for birds, funky planters and blooming plants.
