Call me Rusty, if you dare! It’s Day 1 of StEx Appreciation Month, hosted by @aggregatesarereallygreat, a.k.a. Rusty Day! To celebrate I put together this little set compiling just a few of the many faces Rusty has had over the years: from Ray Shell, the originator of the role in 1984, all the way down to Blake Patrick Anderson, the first Rusty in Bochum’s 2018 production celebrating its 30th anniversary!

I cant believe you have these pictures. That's me in the picture and we used this costume during previews and then got rid of it before opening night. You cant really see in the picture but it actually was a beautiful costume. Don't you just love the 1980's mullet? How in the heck did you get a hold of these photos? Best, Greg Mowry

Hi Greg!  Great to hear from you, I hope you see this!

The pictures are all in the New York Public Library - the Costume Bibles from Parsons-Meares are held there as documents of historical significance!  As a costume designer and maker myself, it’s my area of particular interest and somebody shared a few pictures with me, and I just had to share it on!  

It’s such an interesting concept - must have been a pretty quick change though?
