A Tribute to Rose
3/11/19
Love
Love
Love.
I feel like my heart is racing
I feel like my mind is aching
Is this what sugary crystallized bliss is supposed to feel like?
Like cotton candy spun round and round and round on her head
Intertwined in my fingers.
Her clothes flow like clouds
And drape over her body like a sunset that looks over the sea.
Her voice sings in perfect melody
And only shatters
When she shatters
But that will never happen.
Will it?
I guess it might someday.
But for now, let’s enjoy what we have and just float.
Soar above this town that we love
And yell and laugh and chortle until our sides hurt and I have to get a milkshake.
She never orders anything.
She doesn’t have to.
She’s just a manifestation of light.
She’s not a real person.
But she is to me.
To me, she is destiny
And I have waited so long to find her
And I am never letting her go
And I am never going to give her up
Or let her down
Or desert her.
She is a single pale Rose,
And a Rose by any other name is not a Rose.
She is her own person, and yes, she is a real person
Because HERE SHE IS, standing right in front of me
With her eyes wide in wonder
And her plump pink lips parted slightly
Because I just took her to the moon
And we are never coming back
Because I am Mr. Universe
And the world is my stage.
