I do have a couple of fics waiting to post but. I have hardly written anything? this whole calendar year. Part of this is a lack of time after work most days--I always feel like I should have more, but I turn around and it's 9pm and I have to start getting ready for bed. And part of it is that I have been touching grass, particularly on the weekends, and I mean that mostly literally because I've been spending a lot of time outside. I can get up early and spend most of the day on outdoor recreation, or I can write, but I do not have the time or energy to do both.

The inclination to write has also just...not been there. I've been trying not to worry about it or force it. I wrote almost nothing and I didn't finish anything from 2014-2020, and in 2020, I wrote a 67k fic when the longest thing I'd ever written before was under 20k. There are still things I want to write, but I think if I tried to write them when I'm not feelin it this much, it would 1) not be fun, 2) not come out as good, and 3) probably not get finished. Writing is after all a hobby, and life is about balance, and sooner or later the muse will grab me by the throat again.

In the meantime, I am always happy when people find and enjoy my fics, and I do love and appreciate every ask and comment. Someday I will go back to blorboposting on AO3 when you (and probably I) least expect it.
