Holy Corruption AU!

I'm sure it's been passed around, but I've yet to see it personally. The idea is Al's chest wound wasn't just a bad gash. Adam was powerful, an Arch Angel, and Sinners are NOT meant to survive such attacks. Al survived due to his high power level and high soul contract count, but the infection spread; made worse by his captivity with Vox, and Rosie holding back access to his full power to try and fight it off. And Al being Al hides his deteriorating condition. Why would he tell anyone? Budding trust was nipped early by Charlie and even Rosie.

A sick and injured animal's instinct is to hide and stay away from more potential threats. Weakness is a death sentence. But so is sickness.

Something something Al's mind is gone, it's just a beast with zero inhibitions, hunger, and nothing else. Al can still talk even though he's nearly vestigial at this point, but the filter's gone; he's attacking physically and emotionally. No holding back anymore. Lucifer wants to outright kill Alastor, but Charlie (barely) convinces him to give her and the hotel crew time to try and help Alastor and bring him back to his senses. Lucifer gives them half an hour before he takes matters into his own hands. The best part? Lucifer KNEW Alastor had a Holy infection; he could smell it on him, but ultimately decided to have "the bellhop come to him for help" to "humble" him. Charlie of course finds out, and it's unlikely their relationship will survive when she realizes he knowingly let Alastor suffer. During the confrontation, no one is able to reach him, and they don't have a way to purge the infection from him. Not even Rosie can get through to him, and time's running out.

But perhaps a disgraced Media Overlord with his old boxy head could bring him back...

This AU would take place in S3 as the second to final episode. Al is saved, but comatose for S4 and an unwitting ear for confessional to the hotel residents battling guilt and the emotional wounds he tore into during his rampage. He'd wake up at the end of S4.

Do I hope this becomes a semi-canon for S3? Absolutely. Do I think it will? Fuck no, but a girl can dream~ In the meantime, I will continue inflict pain character growth on my blorbos.

@prinx-quail's favorites out of my warrior cat OCs are my old fat ladies who would be really soft if you pet them, Round'Bird and Soft'Face. I went to see if they would ever even be able to meet on the timeline, and while it's not finished, there's a theoretical point in time where Soft'Face has joined ShadowClan and Round'Bird has retired but is still going to gatherings where they could've met. So here they are! Talking at a gathering. They think each other are swell because they both talk funny (Round is old and weird, Soft is Irish)
