I'm trying to start posting on Instagram more. Let's see if I can keep up with this! Here's a grey reef shark that I illustrated using ballpoint pen and India Ink on a 3"x5" sheet of mixed media paper as a part of my "Leucism" series. I love these creatures' weird and eery smiles. What are some of your favorite weird critters? Leucism: Even when lacking in pigment, animals radiate beauty, strength, and elegance. These achromatic portraits focus on the faces of wildlife and remove the creatures from context. Stripped of their hues, the animals remain bare and raw before the viewer. Their values, textures, and patterns contrast against the deep black of the background as the stark, white outlines highlight their various forms and shapes.
