*Toriel did not HAVE to wake so early, but her excitement for the day ahead of her kept her from sleeping in. She had not been to any sort of dance since she was a young monster, far far in the past, and she was eager to go; especially to meet her lovely date. Come to think of it, perhaps she should have offered to meet her halfway and escort her? Her fire magic definitely could have helped deal with the cold for the poor spider.
*She made a mental note not to let the girl go home without some form of safety from the cold, and set to work on her daily tasks, the first of which she’d assigned to finishing the last touches on her dress. That only took her two hours to finish up, which gave her a good deal of the morning and afternoon for cleaning and then her own leisure time. She didn’t want to arrive TOO early, after all.
*Unsurprisingly, cleaning took her less than half the time it took to finish the dress; when you live alone and tend to clean up after yourself, there’s never really any mess to deal with. Her heart drooped for a moment at that thought; she was rather lonely. But she shook it off, wanting to keep her excitement high for the event.
*Once she was finished with her cleaning, laundry, and writing down a few jokes she’d thought up to tell Sans (she’d surely ‘knock him dead’ with these!), she took a small nap; after all, it was still early enough that some monsters were still asleep, so why not get some well deserved rest?
*By the time the dance had started and Toriel was ready to go, she had woken up, cleaned yet again, and tended to all the flowers in the ruins. She was VERY excited for the event, and was pumped full of energy; she HAD to be doing something up until then.
*A few minutes before she was ready to leave, she finally put on her dress; it fit perfectly. She knew it would though, as she always made her own clothes. The strapless dress hugged her chest perfectly, dipping a bit in the center, perhaps to show off a bit, or maybe just a stylistic choice; only Toriel knew. The body of the dress was a myriad of dark purples and blues, shifting and blending together, with bright white stars scattered throughout to take the form of the cosmos that she’d always dreamed of being able to see again on the surface.
*As she looked in the mirror, she gave a little twirl, and the dress span with her, expanding out a bit as it spun and twirled around her before settling back just above her bare feet. As much as she wished she could have worn a pretty pair of heels or something, it was simply impossible; no one in the underground made shoes her size, and they were the one thing she could not make.
*She turned around to admire the back; as the dress hugged her chest and moved to her back, it dipped even further, showing off a good deal of her back and shoulders and stopping just above her waist before moving back up to match onto the other side. She usually didn’t wear anything this revealing, but... this was a special circumstance.
*Once she was satisfied with how she looked, Toriel grabbed her bag and left out the door, heading into Snowdin. She waved hello to Snowdrake and Gyftrot on the way, making sure to pull off the ‘gifts’ that those prankster teenagers had placed on his horns once again.
*She decided to take her time a bit heading there, wanting to take in the sights of Snowdin and the wilderness, and ended up taking almost a half an hour just to reach the town. As much as she loved the cool crunch of the snow beneath her feet, the moment she stepped in, she felt a bit of relief at the heat of the place, taking a moment to wipe her feet off of any snow and enjoy the warmth before beginning to search for her date.
