He smiles sheepishly.
“…Sorry some of m’magic smacked ya, by the way. You here on business, Mx. Ambassador?”
FRISK RETURNS THE fistbump ‘enthusiastically’, sporting an unshaken sort of smile before placing their hands on their hips.
❝Heheh! Nothing me an’ a Sea Tea can’t handle! Or y’know. Two of ‘em if I haven’t slept all that well or something. It’s all cool! No hard feelings!❞
‘No hard feelings’, indeed… for a moment, they can’t help but wonder if there would have been… Ah, but that’s a thought for another time! At the question of business, Frisk adopts their own ‘sheepish’ expression.
❝Oh! Um, nah, not unless you count the business of ‘checkin’ up on my buds’? I started back down here cause I’m preeeeetty sure I lost something I brought with me when I, uh. Dropped in… But then I got all distracted talking to all the monsters that are still down here, and I think if you hadn’t asked just now, I would’a forgotten about that. But hey! Catching up with friends is like… a LOT more interesting than looking for something, so! I think I win either way??❞
Aaron sighed in relief! He did know (or at least, feel) that Frisk was a good kid, but being that patient did bring a grin to his face.

AS THE FAMILIAR voice rings in the human’s ears, it admittedly takes them a moment or two to recognize exactly who it belonged to ( thanks to the lack of the more bro-y inflection they were more used to hearing )… but a quick turn-around is all it takes to be certain. At the sight of the monster, Frisk offers a big grin!
❝Aaron!! Hi, hello!!! How’s it been? It’s been like…❞
They pause to count on their fingers before gesturing widely.
❝… Forever! I think!❞

He crossed his arms, brow furrowed… Being at home, he felt little to no reason to put on any airs. Rather than the usual bro-y speech he uses while out and about, the stereotypical country drawl flowed free.
“We’re just at home, though, Sweet Pea… C’mon.”
He reaches under the fridge with one hand, lifting up the poor shy creature’s little hiding spot.
“ ‘S a new day, y’know? Your old other hidin’ spot fer yer singin’ all occupied? Way I see it, that’d be the perfect time t’show off whatcha practiced.”
AH. IN THE heat of the moment, she’d forgotten that her step-brother’s muscles weren’t just there for show. Powerless to stop him, Shyren sits inert in the spot where she once lay hidden, staring up at Aaron with a look of shock… but not so much fear… After all, what reason would she have to fear from him, of all monsters?
… Well, aside from losing his grip on the fridge, anyways. Left with little choice, she swims up from her spot on the floor and settles for huddling in the corner of the kitchen instead, defeated. Aaron’s suggestion causes a glimpse of interest, but Shyren’s expression quickly falls as she seems to recall something.
❝There… w-was someone nearby. Wh-when I w-we-went to go there… a-… and then I-I think they s-sa-saw me, s-so I. Ran. A-and now I fe-eel like… If I go back, a-and they did see me…! M-maybe they’d b-be mad or something…❞

THE SILENCE THAT follows the question is all too telling of her lack of a proper reason to be hiding away… and indeed, she doesn’t particularly have one this time around. No one had harassed her, no one had threatened her… No one had even really upset her…
… Her squeaks turn indignant, her visible embarrassment thankfully hidden from view.

A PROTESTING LITTLE squeak issues from under the fridge that Shyren had tucked herself under, and the shuffling noise that accompanies implies that the monster had every intention of shuffling further under ( so as to put herself out of reach if Aaron had a mind to try and pull her out ).
