day or two after yeonchella
to an extent, eunwoo thinks its scary how much her and lucas's moods overlap ever since they met. its like the universe had a mind of its own and decided it was for the best to always keep them together whenever something in their life goes so messed up. they end up in the same place, regularly. it started with eunwoo apparently taking up his space, the publicly available staircase behind the library that no one ever used because it looked dodgy and gloomy, but after months of catching one another in not so pleasant mindsets, sharing one too many cigarettes, things shifted.
it is a regular occurrence nowadays, to meet up there, arranged or not. lucas brings the cigarettes and food, eunwoo brings the lighter and drinks. she's come to like his company. the honestly and rough round the edges talks they have had over the months this has been going on. it's lifted a weight off her shoulders that, funny enough, she isn't alone in some of the ways she feels. its nice to have a shoulder to lean on and provide one in return. and yes, lucas has seen her through some of her rougher patches, a lot of the good ones as well. though, she doesn't think he has ever seen her like this.
she's not exactly running late, though she knows lucas would be at their spot, for a while now, food probably getting cold. not ideal when she was the one that actually messaged him, asking if he was free for their usual get-together, but it took her great strength to actually get out of bed and out of her room. she's tried to make herself look presentable, pjs forgotten the first time in a few days, she's actually dressed up appropriate for the weather - shorts and a tank top, because despite the chosen hour to meet up being late in the afternoon, the summer heat never fully left.
eunwoo rocks up, dark circles and blood shot eyes, maybe a bit worse than usual, she was hungover just yesterday, but the bag of sojus and beers is jingling softly as she makes her way down the steps towards lucas. nothing entirely new in that regard. her hair however, short, a bob barely getting past her chin and not ideally cut. not that people could tell, it wasn't styled so it looked fine, but a stark difference to her usual long hair she had just a handful of days ago. then again, she felt fine a handful of days ago.
"sorry i'm late." she says as she takes her usual spot on the opposite sides of the steps to lucas, a sigh following as she puts the bag between them. they always sit on one of the landings further down from the top and not so close to the bottom, in the in-between really. she doesn't exactly feel embarrassed, but there is a hint of it, in her voice, in the way she is leaning into her knees, she isn't really looking at lucas either.
