Considering that we just recently had a demo drop for Grime 2, I thought it would be fitting to share an old drawing I did that was basically me going "what if Akhlan, but female shaped"

Ok, so I decided to spoiler myself on the endings of Grime because my brain is impatient and wants all of the lore to obsess over and I have to say….the Kindred ending makes me violently ill (/pos), even more so because I ship Akhlan and Shidra.

I prefer the Kindred ending due to the fact it seems to be the true ending and it opens so many angst possibilities for my soul. Akhlan and Shidra forcing themselves to fight each other, Shidra to protect the world they know and Akhlan because of their nature. When Akhlan absorbs Shidra, they come out of it hugging themself and falling to their knees, body shaking as they actually process what they just did.

I think of Akhlan as a being who’s curious and somewhat naïve but forced to be destructive as it’s simply their nature. They had found beauty and love in Shidra, but that wasn’t enough for them to overcome their nature.

When they join their kin, they barely interact with them. Akhlan is too filled with grief and sorrow for what they’ve done, for the lives they’ve unjustly taken and the beauty they destroyed. They lamented being unable to see it all due to their destructive nature.
