many many moons ago

aka like idk 2015 i assume 

@smallandsundry went to a concert with me

watkins family hour at the city winery

which for context is like a Fancy Place

where they have concerts but also you get to order dinner and fancy wine

i know nothing about wine but they also have beer and it’s generally wonderful

not that that’s the point

so we’re at this show that i wanted to go to bc i loved nickel creek

and we’re like off to the side of the stage but really only like ten feet away from the band

getting progressively drunker

as you do

when at one point smalls is like

regarding the vocalist singing at that point

wow she has a really good voice

and i’m like 

“...yes? how is that surprising?”

and she’s like 

????

and i’m like

THAT’S FIONA APPLE

and i very nearly flip our too-small table that’s too-full of alcohol and duck tacos and also some unfairly delightful and pretentious flatbread thing

but i did not bc it is

a fancy place

i just s t a r e at her

anyways that’s the story of how it took smalls half a concert of being like practically within touchign distance of fiona apple to realize it was fiona apple

we now have an expensively-framed posted from that concert in our bedroom so i can point to it regularly and be like

remember when that happened

I have a himbo surfer tiger paladin who is really trying but is starting to feel like they are in WAY over their head at this whole saving the world business. Bro is kind of wondering if they should just.. dab out and go be a surfer or just.. stick it out to the end. (Maybe an oath change?). Use the true black and whatever spread is best for that.
