Grindleford, Peak District
Last weekend, we went out to Derbyshire and walked along Froggatt Edge. We sat on a rock, High above Grindleford, to eat our packed lunch and started to reminisce about Grindleford Cafe. The cafe is still going, so today we went for a long walk up Padley Gorge and along Burbage, then headed back down to the cafe. Grindleford cafe is a 'greasy spoon' type cafe, housed in what was Grindleford Station. It caters mainly to walkers and is very basic, but the food is to die for, you can get your cuppa in half-pint or pint mugs, and once the weather gets cooler, there's always a coal fire going. I walked almost 7 miles and my belly was flapping against my backbone by the time we got to the cafe. The sausage, egg and chips was bloody delicious! #hiking #darkpeak #grindleford #grindlefordcafe #padleygorge #burbage
