“I do wonder what a boy of your intelligence might have amounted to under different circumstances.”
Ask Jordie, Kaz thought with a bitter pang.
Alina Starkov, the Sun Summoner
“Cardinal North is a direction on a map. True North is home... You have always been my True North, Mal.”
“I’ll meet you at The Meadow.”
the grishaverse | corporalki
“the word corporalki comes from the latin word corpus, which means body.”
Kaz, is... is that you?
I'm like five years late to the party but I finally got around to reading the Six of Crows duology (in my defence, I read the first Grisha book before the second one came out and so forgot about the series until recently), so here's a quick portrait sketch of my fave heartrending waffle queen (talk about goals), Nina Zenik!

Something I am super excited about and never experienced before is a truly strong female protagonist- strong mentally, physically, and spiritually. In recent literature, there is a surge of this female main character that I am proud of, that I aspire to be, that I feel people should take inspiration from. This is extremely important and should not be overlooked. Stories with truly strong female leads (read: ones not at the mercy of a new boyfriend every few seconds, ones that can barely fight on their own and have maybe a maximum of one “iconic” scene where they coweringly try to tell someone off) should be fostered, encouraged, and lauded, as books are what educate and raise a nation. And a nation with brave, loving, true, and STRONG females is one that I would love to live in.
Some of the books that I have read (so far) that I think exhibit the best kind of woman (in order of chronology by when I read them):
- Hunger Games series
- Red Queen series
- The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer series
- Six of Crows duology
- Grishaworld series (meh..........Alina makes out with literally everyone, but she is still a Saint I would convert for)
- Darker Shade of Magic series

Pekka Rollins couldn't count the threats he'd heard, the men he'd killed, or the men he'd seen die, but the look in Brekker's eye still sent a chill slithering up his spine. Some wrathful thing in this boy was beginning to get loose, and Rollins didn't want to be around when it slipped it’s leash.
