The saddest part about “Life as a House”, was when he gave away the house.

(And as a side note, the taxes on that house would have been about $75k annually in that area on the ocean. )

Home insurance in that area is outrageous. To insure that size home in 90275 it would be about $8k per month.

So with the utilities, that lady would need to come up with about 15k per month. And that’s not including fuel, car, food, doctor etc…

So while it seemed like a nice idea, it was actually likely sold anyways.

And that’s sad.

Had an interview for a dental assistant program today, find out next week if I get in (there’s 21 applicants and only 8 slots.) I am so nervous but I think I did pretty well so here’s hoping I get it!

Sometimes, I do wish to stay at a certain age. A certain age where me and my friends can go out almost everyday, sneaking around late at night when everyone in the house is asleep for a late night drive, beach day anytime we like no need to check our schedule and the weather we just go for it, when we spend our evenings swimming in the ocean and the color of the sunset touched our skin, when we secretly wanted to get drunk but told our parents it’s just a staycation with our friends, every pain is healed when we go out and have a good time with our friends. Or a certain age where I still wear my blue and white uniform to go to school on weekdays, meeting my friends at school and laughing without thinking about life, when the only burden was math and chemistry. I wish I could stay 12, or 17, or 19, or 20, or 21 whatever age it is, I miss life when it’s so simple without grownup shit to deal with.

How does one grieve a broken home?

Like, I made it out, sure. Stumbled out the front door and barely found my footing enough to distract myself.

But sometimes, I wish my dad gave me hugs instead of bruises and I don't know how to grieve that.

Truth is:

I'm battling my annual depression right now. But I'm trying not to just roll over and let it consume me. I'm reading A LOT! I'm investing in learning tons. I'm starting new business pursuits. I'm involving myself in my daughter's education in many ways. I've started back on a dermatologist recommended acne regimen. I'm trying to workout more than than I don't by incorporating new forms of fitness. And I'm trying to push myself to cook at least one meal a day. It's not all working out to the same extent. But the point is I AM TRYING!
