Somebody said they wanted a quick shitty graphic? No?
Either way, this cover really got to me. The Last Unicorn was practically my entire childhood, I loved that movie, but I never liked the chorus of this song because I didn't understand why being alive was something to be celebrated. Now, years later, having been through the things I have, and knowing, at least partly, some of the hardships Dan has experienced in his life, this hit me like a punch to the gut.
Dan, despite the struggles he's been through, has come out on top (literally, top 10 in the iTunes charts anyone?), and that's the most inspiring thing about him to me. He's not only alive, he's really, truly living.
