TimKon, Fluff, humour, Kon being a good boyfriend, Grumpy Tim.
Summary: To help with his self-care, Kon comes up with a daily to do list for Tim to follow. Tim isn't pleased with this new development.
A/N: This idea came from the Fluff Bingo card from flufftober and the square 'to do list.'
Enjoy! :D
“What’s this?”
“What’s what?”
“This.” Tim holds up the piece of paper pointedly and shakes it. “What the fuck is this?”
Kon stares at him for a long moment and Tim dreads for whatever is about to come out of his mouth. “Are you referring to the piece of paper or what’s on the piece of paper?”
“What do you think Kon? What the fuck is this?"
Tim’s losing his patience. He had woken up that morning in a foul mood and seeing this piece of paper pinned on the fridge hasn’t helped. It also doesn’t help he hasn’t had his morning coffee yet.
Not answering him straight away, Kon goes to the counter and starts up the coffee machine. Tim appreciates it but he’s only delaying the inventible.
“Kon!”
His boyfriend continues to ignore him until he has a steaming cup of coffee in his hands and walks over to Tim and holds it out for him to take. A bold move really. If it wasn't the coffee that Tim so desperately needed, he would have thrown it in Kon’s face. Taking a sip and sighing at the taste, he breathes deeply and centres himself.
“Once again,” he says slowly, “what the hell is that piece of paper?”
Kon hums and still doesn’t answer him. Maybe Tim could sacrifice the coffee after all, he could always make another. “C’mere.”
Kon grabs his waist and directs him to the kitchen island, he makes him sit down and grabs the piece of paper and puts it in front of him. Wrapping his arms around Tim, Kon hooks his chin over his shoulder.
Finally he starts explaining himself.
“I’ve noticed you’ve had several hard days recently, more like a hard couple of weeks, so I’ve put this list together to help you get healthy and back into a somewhat normal routine again.”
Tim pauses, taking in what his boyfriend just said. He’s still not in the best of moods so he instantly goes on the defensive. “Okay, one, I’m fine. Two, this is ridiculous, I don’t need help being healthy or whatever. Three, there is no having a routine, everyday is so not normal Kon. You know this.”
Kon hums and gives him a squeeze. Tim tries to not melt into the warmth he’s providing. “In the last two weeks have you, or have you not, pulled six all nighters? Have you, or have you not, pulled at least three muscles and sprained two more? Have you, or have you not, eaten a single decent meal in the last five days? Have you, or have you not, been benched for the next week? Have you-”
“Okay! Enough!” Tim shouts over him. “Geeze, no need to attack me so early in the morning Kon.”
Kon pulls out his phone from his pocket and turns on the screen showing the time. “Technically it’s late morning, 11:33 to be exact.” He pockets his phone and hugs Tim again.
Tim runs a hand over his face, feeling too tired to be dealing with this shit. The looks at the piece of paper. “What’s the point in this then? ‘Tim’s daily to do list.’”
“As I was saying,” as Kon talks Tim could hear the smile in his voice. He’s tempted to throw his coffee at him again. “I’ve put this list together for you, and the aim is that you tick off each thing throughout the day for the next week. It’s to help with your self-care. If you have something to aim for then you’re most likely to do it. I can badger you all I like but it’s unlikely you’ll listen to me.”
Tim admits he feels warmth spread through him at Kon’s concern. His boyfriend is admittedly just looking out for him and instead of hovering over him like a helicopter parent, he’s come up with a different method to get this to work.
Tim knows he hasn’t been right over the last couple of weeks. Work at WE has been insane, his Gotham Knight’s Shelter has also taken up a lot of his time and that’s not even mentioning the case load he has as Red Robin and for the Titans.
As a result of burnout Bruce’s benched him for the next week as Kon pointed out. He’s planning on spending the week at his apartment in Gotham so he’s still nearby if anything does rise but he’s also in his own space rather than in the Manor. Kon’s opted to stay with him for most of the week until he needs to go back to the farm at the weekend.
Reading over Kon’s list he finds none of it is outlandish. Everything he’s included seems reasonable enough. Kon’s put the effort into this so the least Tim can do is give it a go.
“Okay fine, I’ll give it a go. Do I get a reward if I complete it?” He asks smiling mischievously at Kon.
Kon blinks, as if he’s surprised by the question and doesn’t have an answer. “Uh, I guess? I'm sure I can think of something.”
Reaching up with one hand Tim grips Kon’s nape and pulls him in for a kiss and Kon doesn’t resist as Tim pushes his tongue past his lips. Their lips mould together and Tim lets out a little pleased hum as he tastes his boyfriend. They break apart although Kon dives back in for a few more pecks before they properly separate.
Kon grins widely. “I can definitely think of some rewards you can have if you complete this.”
Tim snickers and looks back at the paper. “I thought you might. I look forward to claiming them.”
Have faith friends! Lucy undercover is not the end of Chenford. We’ll get some feels at the wedding.
Then I think it’ll be like Peraltiago where we get a time skip of being UC and only see the end/the fallout. Lucy will rock UC but also get it out of her system.
Or maybe Lucy will decompress every so often and sneak away to get drinks with Tim and be herself. And Tim will give her updates on Tamara and Jackson and Kojo. and how the new Wopez baby is doing.
Or maybe she gets drinks with Jackson and Nolan and they tell her how much meaner and grumpier Tim has gotten since she’s been gone. She’s wondering why Tim doesn’t come say hi, but he’s too scared to face the reality of her doing UC. But he’s the first to come find her when it’s over.
Either way, I think Season 4’s gonna be the year for some serious Chenford growth
One of the first things Tim is aware of when he wakes up from his slumber is how cold he is. His feet are freezing underneath the covers and he could feel a chill touching his body where he’s not covered by the blankets. Burying his head further into the pillow Tim grumbles in displeasure and curls up tighter to try and warm up. He hates winter nights in Gotham.
The second thing he notices is that he's alone in bed. It only clicks in his sleep fogged mind when he’s able to bunch all of the covers up and around him as he tries his best to preserve the little warmth he does have. Sighing Tim lifts his head up and through squinted eyes he glances around the dark room in attempts to search for his absent bed partner. No wonder he’s cold, he’s missing his human furnace sleeping next to him.
When Tim doesn’t immediately spot him, he gives up looking and drops his head back down on the pillow. Surely Kon couldn’t have gone far. Maybe a trip to the bathroom? Tim would question Kon’s sanity of leaving the warmth their bed provides but Kon is half Kryptonian therefore he doesn’t feel the cold as easily as Tim does.
Just as he’s starting to doze off he feels the mattress dip behind him as a familiar weight is applied. Seconds later Tim feels something gently tugging at the blankets he has secured tightly around him. Not willing to give them up, Tim clutches them and doesn’t let go. “No.” He whines as the tugging continues.
Behind him a soft laugh sounds out. “Tim are you going share? I want some of the covers too y’know.”
Tim doesn’t care what Kon wants. All Tim cares about is keeping warm and if he gives up the blankets he’s going to get hit with a chill when they get moved. He's not doing it. Kon can handle the cold.
“Get your own.” Tim mumbles petulantly.
Behind him Kon goes still and Tim takes that as a small victory. He’s very willing to let that be the last of it although before he could once again fall asleep, Kon is there leaning over him so he could whisper into Tim's ear. “If you let me under the blankets, we can cuddle. I’ll be much warmer than the blankets y’know. We can cuddle in whatever position you’d like.”
Tim grumbles again at the unfairness of it, Kon makes a compelling case for him to give up the blankets even for a second.
“Fine.” Tim yields in the end. He relinquishes his grip on the blanket and braces himself for the rush of cold that’s about to hit him.
Kon makes quick work of removing the covers off of Tim and getting under them himself. Tim lets out a pathetic whine when the cold hits him and then huffs as Kon shifts about behind him as he gets comfortable.
Reaching out blindly, Tim grabs Kon’s wrist and pulls his arm forward to manoeuvre it so it’s wrapped over his side with Kon’s hand resting on his chest. Tim feels Kon flinch and behind him he hears his boyfriend hiss. “Jesus Tim, you’re freezing!”
Tim holds onto Kon’s wrist tightly so he can’t take it back. “Yup. Now cuddle me, we’re spooning.”
Kon snorts but doesn’t protest, he presses in close to Tim, putting his chest against his back and wraps his arm tighter around Tim. As Kon settles into the position, Tim feels their legs touch and unable to help himself he moves his feet just enough so he can press them against Kon’s calves, he takes satisfaction in the hiss Kon makes when his cold feet touch his skin.
“Asshole.” Kon mumbles into his hair. Not responding Tim simply smiles though he does move his feet away.
After that they both quickly settle down in the position and Tim finds himself warming up, both on the inside and out. He loves being this close to Kon, it’s so intimate and loving that it makes Tim feel safe in a way he hasn’t before.
Tim hums contently. “You’re warm.”
Kon laughs and presses a kiss to his hair as he gives Tim a comforting squeeze. “Yeah? Well you’re freezing.”
“You shouldn’t have left the bed then.” Tim retorts back.
Even though he couldn’t see him, Tim knows Kon is rolling his eyes. “It’s not my fault you’re a cold blooded creature.”
“Unfortunately we all can’t be living furnaces Kon.”
“That’s true, I guess it’s a good thing you’re currently dating one then isn’t it?”
“Sometimes sure, although it’s pointless when he leaves the bed and leaves me to freeze to death.”
“You’re really not going to let that go are you?” Kon asks sounding amused.
Tim shakes his head. “Nope. Now shut up and go to sleep.”
“You’re so demanding when you’re sleepy, it’s both adorable and annoying.”
“I wouldn’t be sleepy if you hadn’t left the bed leaving the cold to wake me up.” Tim comments with a smile.
“Oh my god Tim, shut up about me leaving the bed!”
Tim giggles but otherwise doesn’t comment. Or at least he doesn’t think he does because his mind quickly drifts off to sleep soon afterwards.
Congrats on hitting a milestone! For the prompts how about 55 with Jaytim?
Thank you! Also I did get your apology anon and it’s okay, no worries! With this one I’m not entirely sure that I fully met the prompt (55 is rain) but it was fun to write and I hope you enjoy it either way! Be prepared for petty arguments, bickering and a grumpy Tim. (However this is not shippy, just a platonic sibling relationship.)
Enjoy! :D
“This is your fault.”
“This is not myfault.”
“It’s so your fault.”
“How the fuck is this my fault replacement?”
“Well perhaps if you didn’t throw that spanner at me ingarage B wouldn’t have heard anything and then he wouldn’t have put us on lookoutduty.”
“Well perhaps if you didn’t make such a big deal of it hewouldn’t have heard you screaming in first place. Such an attention seeker.”
“You made me nearly break my car Hood, of course I was goingto yell at you asshole.”
“Would you guys cut itout. Seriously, it’s like dealing with five year olds.”
Tim takes a deep breath after Oracle finishes her sentence, god being with Jason is just like he has absolutely no patience. The man windshim up in ways that he didn’t even know was possible.
At this currentmoment, he and his so called brother were both lying down on their stomachs onan apartment building opposite a warehouse. They got stuck on the shittylookout job, while everyone else gets to go and investigate, as a punishmentfor fighting in the cave earlier that day. Their fighting had disturbed Bruceand pulled him away from a meeting he was having with the JL and because ofthat he’s punishing them together so they would learn to ‘get along’.
In Tim’s opinion it was completely uncalled for, theyweren’t children and he didn’t really have the power over them to do such athing, but here they are hours later lying together and still bickering. Timwas ready to blow a fuse at this point because Jason was really pissing himoff.
It certainly didn’t help that it was pouring down with rainand was freezing cold.
“Why are we on lookout anyway, it’s not like you need us twohere?” Jason asks into the comms.
There was a sigh over the comms as Oracle answers, “Because we need people keeping an eye out oneverything going on around the outside of the warehouse, but also because it’sthe worst job and B’s making you both do it as punishment.”
“Yeah well, making the one without a spleen lie around inthe pouring rain and freezing cold is just a wise idea isn’t it?” Tim commentsfrowning. “If I get ill and die I will not be happy.”
“It’d certainly do us a favour.” Jason quips next to him.Tim glares at him and reaches over to punch his shoulder. Jason snarls at himand whacks him back.
“Boys.”
They stop the hitting each other and go back to watching thewarehouse in front of them shivering as they do so. Tim wasn’t lying when hesaid it was cold, despite all the layers of armour he’s got on he can still feelit seeping into his skin.
They stay silent for a few minutes but it wasn’t long untilthe peace between them broke. Jason shifted around restlessly and comments,“Well this fucking sucks.”
Tim snorts, “Well no shit sherlock. It’s your fault we’rehere to begin with.”
From his peripheral vision Tim sees Jason turn his head hisway, he couldn’t see his expression because of the helmet but he can easily saythat Jason was 100% glaring at him. “Really replacement, back to this shitagain?”
Tim shrugs, “I’m not happy about, I’ve gone 4 months withouta cold, which is a new record by the way, and I swear to god if I wake uptomorrow with one I will kill somebody. That somebody being you.”
He’s pretty sure Jason was about to respond but Oracle’svoice seems to stop him doing so. “Guyswe got three bodies leaving the warehouse, everyone else is still scooping outthe area, go follow them and see where they go. They may take us to the otherplace they’re operating out of.”
Without any further words they both get up and watch as thethree bodies climb into a car parked nearby and take off down the street.Getting his tracking device out Tim switches on the tracker they had placed onthat particular car and brings up it’s route, he briefly shows it to Jason andtogether they start running across the roof tops in the direction the car went.
It wasn’t until they ran a few blocks that somethinghappened, the car was still weaving in and out of the streets like it had beenbut it was Tim who messed up. He had been checking the tracker and lost focuson where he was running. The next roof they had landed on was a lot shorterthan he realised, so his jump to the next on was poorly timed and poorlyexecuted because his foot slipped off the edge as he jumped.
He hits the next building with a thump, his top half landingon the flat bit of the roof while his hip and legs dangle over the side of thebuilding. His awkward landing made him scramble to get a grip on the roof tostop himself from falling, however it was difficult to get a grip because waterwas covering everything causing it to be slippery. He could feel himselfslipping and frantically tries to pull himself up over the edge of thebuilding. Unfortunately luck wasn’t on his side because in the next second hecompletely loses his grip and finds himself falling.
As he was about to reach out for his grapple gun somethingclamps around his bicep and brings his falling to a halt. Looking up wide-eyed,he finds Red Hood looming over him with his hand locked around his arm.
Despite the situation at hand Tim smirks up at his brother,“Aw Hood, you do care.”
“I will drop you.” Jason comments back. Tim knows that’s nottrue because the hand locked around his arm tightens and he’s beginning to bepulled up over the edge and eventually deposited on the roof top.
Tim stumbles for a moment as he gets his footing but oncehe’s up right he swipes the dirt off of him and looks at Hood. “Thanks.” Hesays quietly.
“Don’t mention it. “Jason says and gives him a quick nodbefore taking off to the next roof.
Tim takes off immediately after him, making sure to be muchmore careful this time. It was still pissing down with rain and was cold but atleast he’s now doing something. He catches up to Jason and together theycontinue following the car’s direction.
“Good morning sleepy head!”
Tim groans into his pillow as he’s jerked out of sleep by aboisterous voice. He swallows thickly and forces himself to look up at hisroom’s intruder. Of fucking course it was Jason.
“What the fuck do you want?” He groans out turning back intohis pillow. He feels like shit, his throat was all clammy, his nose wasblocked, his chest felt tight and constricted and he has a thumping headache. He was not in the mood for Jason’s shit that morning. Was it still morning? Hehonestly didn’t have a clue.
“Someone’s snappy. Anyway, I brought soup, courtesy ofAlfred and I repeat, ‘make sure Master Timothy eats every last drop MasterJason’ so get up and eat replacement.”
Tim groans again but doesn’t move. He hates this. He’scaught a fucking cold from getting drenched from the rain when he was onlookout a few days ago. “This is your fault Jason and I hate you.”
He hears Jason laugh, “It’s technically your fault that yougot us punished in the first place so not really but whatever. Now get your assup or else we’re gonna be punished by Alfred if you don’t eat all of this soupand we both know his punishments are a whole lot worse than Bruce’s.”
