Life update now!
I’m here! I’m living in our apartment with Jon in Västerås, it’s been a little over a week since I got here.
When I’ve gotten all of my things off of the kitchen table and put away nicely I’m going to take a few pictures for everyone so y’all can see how I’m livin now.
We haven’t done much other than cuddle and make out nonstop but we have spent time with our friends and family a bit.
We went to a Midsummer celebration last Friday which was a lot of fun and let me see some of my favorite people here again, it was a really yummy BBQ involving Cards Against Humanity and a fighting game on the PS3. We had dinner with Jon’s mom and aunt over the weekend which was just really lovely, it was a super good Swedish meal and I’m happy to be around this side of my family again. A couple nights ago we spent time with Jon’s best friend Viktor and made some really awesome burritos and watched Adventure Time. It was nice, I missed him a lot. We’ve got plans to have dinner with Jon’s dad and his girlfriend as well as taking a trip to Eskilstuna this weekend to visit his maternal grandma and spend more time with the family.
Also, the sun doesn’t really go down here and it’s really messing up my rhythm. It’s still totally bright out until around midnight when it dims to twilight for a bit and then starts getting light again around 3am. It’s trippy as hell, though pretty cool. Really makes you think about where you are.
Being back in Sweden is making me kick myself for not spending the year that I was away trying to learn the language. But! That’s just more incentive to work harder and learn quicker. I’m sure once I start understanding the basics the rest will come to me easily since I’m so surrounded by it.
Being here with Jon is bliss and I’m so so thankful to finally be able to kiss his face when I wake up in the morning. The fact that this is permanent hasn’t sunk in at all yet. We’re definitely still in the “stare-at-each-other-in-awe” phase.
