I just barely stopped myself from rage-deleting all my fic google docs because hockey players and hockey culture in general is pissing me off so badly

I love writing fic, reading your reactions, and talking to you guys, but fuckkk, it sucks to once again get such a blatant confirmation that hockey will never love me the way I love it and writing fic about men who are partying with the fbi director and giggling with trump feels gross and wrong right now. I just can't ignore their real-life actions

I wanted to update gtapot in a few days and I'm making good progress on the mikkolehky fic too, but idk. I think I'm going to take some time and reflect, and then decide what to do

Hiiiiiiiii just wanted to pop in and say I love gtapot (which I've been reading in my head as GTA pot lol) and completely understand and support all your feelings on these men and this league

Whenever you decide to end this I will be reading it over and over again though 😸 I do love the characterisations

i can totally see schaef being in the group but after a while. like, he knows he's gay and it's okay with that -he's a gen z after all- but being totally scared of come out to his teammates/nhl other players because of all the homophobia surrounding the league so it takes a couple of months for him to come out to drouin and ask if he can be added to the group chat (ofc the fact that he knows about nate and jo makes him comfortable to being able to talk about this with drouin and come out to sydney and matt first because he lives with them. also i totally see nicojack kind of helping to this in an indirect way through the 1st overall gc)

and sydney and matt being all protective parents because there's no fucking way someone is going to be mean and homophobic to their adopted older son
