otherwise known as a torta de tamal, it is a torta, de tamale.

following the time-honored tradition of a different meal on bread, this is really simple, really tasty meal. i ate mine as a midnight snack with a mug of hot chocolate.

it was really really filling, especially with the hot chocolate on the side. i do think this is just a really nice way to eat tamales if you have a bunch leftover or frozen. i used a green tamale since it's what i had (and my favorite), but i could also see this being really good with a meatier tamale and some hot sauce, or with a tamal de dulce. would recommend!

¿Es posible ingerir la GUAJOLOTA de forma saludable?

Saludos queridos lectores. Este artículo está dedicado para mi primo @Fcestrada con mucho cariño pues Él una vez me dio a entender que una buena dieta es aquella que puedes conseguir en cualquier tienda y que sea saludable.  Al escuchar esto pensé en algunos alimentos, pero no concreté nada esa vez. Ahora con la materia de socioantropología tuve la oportunidad de hacer un proyecto escolar que trataba de elegir un platillo Mexicano que sabíamos que hacía daño.

Así que elegimos la torta de tamal. En este proyecto aprendí que la torta de tamal es originaria de Puebla y que el modo tradicional es un pambazo relleno de enchiladas, pero con el nombre “Torta de tamal”. Y aquí en la ciudad de México se tomó literal la “torta de tamal” y es conocida como la “Guajolota”.

Al aceptar el reto de hacer la torta de tamal saludable nos dimos a la tarea de buscar los beneficios que aporta que este alimento, entre ellos están:

Accesible

Rápida de conseguir

Económico

Satisfactorio

Mantiene la cultura de nuestro País al ser el tamal un alimento de origen mesoamericano.

Por otro lado obtuvimos las características nutrimentales de este alimento en el Sistema Mexicano de Equivalentes y encontramos que una torta de tamal nos aporta:

Un tamal nos aporta entre 8 y 9 equivalentes de cereal

5 a 6 equivalentes de cereal con grasa

Un bolillo nos aporta 3 equivalentes de cereales sin grasa.

Que equivale a 804 kcal, 10.8 gr de proteína, 41.4 gr de lípidos, 100.5 gr Hidratos de Carbono y 3.0 gr de Fibra.

Se entiende que por el estilo de vida que llevamos, a veces es complicado conseguir un alimento calientito, rico, fácil de conseguir.

Entre las recomendaciones que encontramos es:

1. Como principal tratar de no pedir un tamal en torta, pero si ya lo pediste solo comer la mitad, así solo nos aporta 402 kcal, que entran en un rango usual de un desayuno.

2. En lugar de acompañar con atole, preferiblemente acompañarla con café o té(de preferencia sin azúcar)

3. Si ese tiempo de comida optaste por una torta de tamal, procura que tu alimentación en todo el día contenga más raciones de verduras o alguna fruta, pues es importante cubrir mínimo 5 raciones de verduras y frutas diariamente.

4. Tratar de tener en los demás tiempos de comida, opciones saludables y balanceadas.

5. Lo más importante, respeta tu reflejo de saciedad, se vale guardar tu torta o tamal si comienzas a sentirte satisfecho.

Otro aspecto muy importante, es que en tu trayecto rumbo a tus ocupaciones, observa más opciones donde puedes encontrar comidas ricas, acorde a tu tiempo y presupuesto y que sean saludables. Así la próxima vez que no te de tiempo de llevar tus alimentos, podrás tener más opciones.

No olvides, que nuestro cuerpo nos ayuda a que podamos disfrutar los bellos de la vida, es momento de cuidarlo y mantener nuestra salud.
