Wanda had been sitting on the couch since breakfast, unable to find the strength or the motive to move. Her brain was still thawing from the ice cold shock of losing her brother, and so she stared at the screen which was showing a nature documentary, her legs crossed as some of laura’s old clothes hung off her body. She sipped absentmindedly at her tea, not noticing the asgardian hovering.

Big words coming from a man whose primary defense is intimidating hand-gestures and a semi-sentient cloak, who is fostering a lovely set of cracked ribs for his trouble.

He willed himself to soften the comment somewhat, given the force behind it largely came from his own pride, which refused to give into the logic that someone could actually just care without that care being belittling. “What I’m saying is, you don’t have to worry about me. And you certainly don’t have to handle me like I’m glass. Lord knows even I don’t most days.”
