A deep sigh escaped Zaphkiel’s lips. He had been staring at these tablets since Father knows when. Too long. And he hadn’t made the progressed he had hoped. Hours of fruitless research culminated in an underwhelming result of nothing. He adjusted his glasses, an aesthetic of his current vessel. He’d been cooped up in his hold for far too long. Maybe he was losing his touch. And yet, no matter how stir-crazy he felt, he never ventured far from his texts and tablets. A sudden arrival distracted him. Perhaps that was just what he needed. Upon seeing the archangel, he rose, “Raphael. I was not expecting you.”
