What is an evil stick? 🤔
Evil sticks are an impact toy that are small and leave welts. Typically it's just the stick (like a mini-cane) but I got the one in the (old) photo below from a maker based in Maryland who had shapes! Mine makes little heart bruises when used correctly. ❤

If you read my previous post about Syl and didn’t recognize the plot as I related it to a classic horse girl movie or book, I…I’m not sure how to explain it further. You just missed, in your life, a very specific genre of novels that is, in fairness, marketed almost exclusively towards girls age 7-13. They don’t all have that plot, obviously - sometimes the girl doesn’t like the horse, and the parent(s) must convince her to bond with it. Sometimes the parent(s) is less important, and there’s a really hot, like, groom or riding instructor. But ‘Young woman bonds with horse despite internal and external conflict, prohibitions” is a genre of film and novel that very much exists, and if you take Syl as the young woman and Kaladin as the horse, Way of Kings + Words of Radiance fits the general plot format hilariously well.
Does your recurring theme of the M'ega using the same water being akin to a proposal apply to Unexpected Fixes?
AHAHAHA OH MY GOD okay so I wrote Unexpected Fixes before I came up with that cultural feature, but applying it to that story makes it EVEN MORE ENJOYABLE IN RETROSPECT FOR ME. AND HOPEFULLY FOR YOU ALL AS WELL!
Because like--Megamind’s point of view, yes? He’s standing in the shower with the water on (being VERY FLIRTY. like. EVEN MORE FLIRTY THAN I PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT--the water is on, this is--this is probably something like him posing seductively on a bed at Roxanne. Only he’s not expecting her to pick up on just how hard he’s flirting with her. Because why would she? The thing with water doesn’t translate for humans. Which is probably why he feels brave enough to flirt with her so blatantly. Because he’s figuring it won’t be blatant to her and he’s not really expecting much of a response.
So when she pushes him into the water and follows him into the water--he’s like HOLY FUCK WHAT IS HAPPENING. But--
--no, Megamind, this definitely ISN’T WHAT YOU’RE THINKING, remember HUMANS DON’T USE WATER TO INDICATE ROMANTIC/SEXUAL COMMITMENT. don’t get your hopes--
and then she KISSES HIM

later, on the couch--I know the shower scene is fade-to-black, but I don’t think they probably actually have sex in the shower, right then; I always sort of figured it was a lot of making out and maybe some undressing (it’s deliberately left vague, though; the reader can picture it however they like)
anyway, later, on the couch, Megamind is understandably VERY CONFUSED about what is happening still. because??? WATER?? KISSING?? ROMANTIC COMMITMENT?? YES?? NO?? THAT’S GOTTA BE A NO, RIGHT? surely she didn’t really mean--
And Roxanne tells him that she’s pretty sure they’ve been dating without realizing it and Megamind’s mind goes:
THAT’S A YES. ON THE ROMANTIC COMMITMENT.
