A few months ago, I posted some still frames from the DIY anamorphic lenses I created. The optical block for these lenses were modeled after the glass Italian film maker, Dario Argento, used in Suspiria. The anamorphic element, I had created by a glass maker in Amsterdam.
Well, after some tweaking here and there over the past few weeks, I’ve finally got things ready for production. Image is sharp across the entire frame, and contrast is soft an filmic. I am thinking that they are ready for cinematic productions. However, I think I will use them primarily for my YouTube channel, to get that vintage giallo cinematic vibe. Once I get my vibes back (still recovering from corporate toxic shock), I’ll be horror vlogging and acting with friends in 2:35 anamorphic! So cool. Major accomplishment, if you consider that anamorphic lenses generally speaking cost $30,000 and up for ONE LENS, and I have a set of 35,55, and 85mm. Here is a close focus still frame from the 35mm.. FIRE! 💄666💄
