Yet another idea...
This idea is actually old. It's a recycled idea if you will....it was an idea I had for myself last summer. But like many of my grandiose ideas I couldn't find a way to finance it.
I want to spend a summer going to music festivals. Music festivals of all types. And document it. Take video...do blog posts...tweet.
What I really hate is that this idea has probably been done. What I also hate is that it is, like so many of my ideas insanely expensive. Even if I volunteered at some of these festivals I'd still need money for airfare, or gas money. And a place to stay.
Anyway; if I ever fufill this desire to document said experience these would be some of my choice festivals. And trust me this is an eclectic mix:
Coachella (In the desert of Cali somewhere)
Lollapolloza (In the Chi)
SXSW (It's in March..eh..well anywho in Tejas)
Artscape (that's what I consider my "first big break" I interned for that festival..it's in Baltimore)
That really big Wagner festival that lasts 100 days and is in Germany or something. I can't remember the name or how long it is
Essence Music Festival (NOLA)
Capitol Jazz Fest (Columbia,MD)
Bonnaroo (Tennessee..yes my prissy self would camp out in a tent)
Lillith Fair (all over)
Roots Picnic (Phillay)
Virgin Free Fest (It was in Columbia, MD last year)
Warped Tour (Yes it's not a festival but it happens every summer...soo...)
Pitchfork Music Festival (because I heart Pitchfork Media..it's in Chicago)
Taste of Chicago (ok that involves food..but good music always comes with tasty eats)
Any Guerrilla Union Presented Festival...
So if there are any venture capitalist reading this. Or any kind people who think this is an awesome idea..hit me up. I'm serious about figuring out how to do this; I've had this dream since last year, and well it stuck. It's on my list of things to do..my bucket list if you will.
