Newest Members
We’d like to announce that that we managed to recruit two incredibly awesome members to our guild, Adalea Sunglade and Alammath Dresdayn!
Storyline: Mysterious Contract
The story continues as The Serpentine Kiss follows a lead to the last place the missing mercenary group was spotted: the unforgiving region called Desolace. The group stumbled upon what appeared to be the aftermath of a gruesome battle, one which featured the presence of both fel and shadow magic. After searching the corpses for any information that may lead Kiss members to understand just what transpired there many weeks ago, the cackling laughter of imps filled their ears. Several members left to investigate the disruption, and found that these imps were torturing a human male so badly wounded that he verged upon the brink of death. The Serpentine Kiss members chased down the imps just in time to save the man’s life - for now - and return him safely to the compound for resuscitation and questioning.
To be continued!
Mission: The Rescue
The guild’s Darkwood allies will soon report that a Kiss specialist has been suddenly captured by a small band of mercenaries during a routine sweep of the area. It is no secret that the local forests have seen an influx of bandit activity, and specialists have been deploying each night to rout them out. It was hoped that when met with enough resistance, they would move on and stop settling so near the encampments. Instead, the bandits called in reinforcements from the nearest Razor’s Edge compound, a mercenary group led by an orc by the name of Kormag Ettinsbane. It is unknown if those who carried out the abduction were aware of a rather rough truce that existed between The Serpentine Kiss and the Razor’s Edge Syndicate, but leadership cannot spare a moment speculating about intentions while a member of the guild may be imprisoned, or worse, dead.
It will be up to a group of specialists to find a way to retrieve their captured comrade.
Winterlisse will be DMing this event on Tuesday, May 23rd. The time of the event is still to be determined. If you wish to offer up a character to be selected for imprisonment, please reply to this announcement, or talk to Winterlisse directly. Once characters have been put into a pool, a die will be cast to decide who will be the unlucky captive on that date.
This event will be open for all characters, no matter their profession or skill set. The group will decide how they will approach Razor’s Edge, and depending upon what decisions are made, outcomes will vary widely. Will they choose to burst through the gates and kill everyone in sight? Attempt to bargain with the leader for the life of their comrade? Sneak in through an underground tunnel or over the walls and stealthily release the prisoner? It will be up to the group to decide, an one wrong move could result in permanent injury, or worse: death.
Rumors:
The compound has been abuzz with the rather, unquiet knowledge, that Caeluith Duskdraw and Amelorna Sunthreader are currently seeing each other. Such songs as, “ Bangity Bang “ have become something of a hit.
Rumors abound that a library may be built at the Darkwood village very soon. But for what purpose? Can mercenaries even read?
Bandit activity has decreased over the past week or so, thanks to routine patrols conducted by Kiss specialists and Darkwood scouts.
Kydin was spotted at the tavern the other night, sporting a ragged beard, dirt-encrusted armor, and a stench that could knock someone unconscious. He left in quite a hurry after discovering that his main squeeze had not been spotted at the compound in the past few weeks.
Upon hearing the news about Caeluith and Amy, Kydin strode across the room and punched Cael in the jaw. Some say they saw his head spin completely around, but that would be ridiculous....
Lorilin Durant, a Gilnean of Darkwood Village and rarely seen by the Serpentine Kiss, asked halfheartedly around for Faldrias Blackarrow in the Nest. All the while looking preoccupied with something else.

Weekly Update:
OOC Guild Updates:
It has been a quiet couple weeks as the new patch 7.2 with it’s sketchy invasions has been unleashed and a few of our members have also found themselves delving deep into Mass Effect: Andromeda!
Weekend after the Easter holiday, we’ll be introducing the guild’s new story arc for all of those that are interested in getting involved.
The new story line will signal the continuation of RP for the guild as we brush off the space dust and the Legion crumb woes to get back to character building.
We ask that EVERYONE regardless of IC happenings, log in and check the guild calendar to be caught up on what is going on.
ALSO
The Serpentine Kiss is once again actively recruiting! We are looking for new members ( IC ), patrons, and still seeking to form new alliances with other role-playing guilds big or small! If you know of anyone or would like to perhaps scout for new potential, please speak with Shaeliora, Caeluith, or Faldrias/Loaireth!
IC Update:
A few of the Kiss members may have found themselves having received a letter in the mail. Accompanying it is usually a rather grotesque or useless item with a small snippet of a poem.
If you have found yourself in possession of such a note, please speak with Shaeliora.
Job Postings:
One or two new contracts will be rolling out later this week!
Darkwood Village updates:
Lorilin Durant, one of the human Gilneans in the settlement and Horse Master of the Darkwoods, has been asking around about trade routes and hinting at the idea of cleaning up the roads to be safe for travelers.
If anyone is interested in tackling such a problem and scouting out safe roads. Please message Shaeliora or Faldrias!

Champions of Dusk Currency and Item Creation
Currency
Gloam-bound Scrips are distributed by Circle of Dusk officers for use while trading with the renowned artisans of Rivermouth. A wide variety of services can be found within the trading hub of Shal’danil; an apothecary, stablemaster, armorers, blacksmiths, fletchers and more! Use our IC currency to earn rewards and items to further your character’s reputation as well as skill in combat!
Several quality scrips may be awarded for completing missions, attending events, guild competitions...etc. The first three ranks of scrip may be used to purchase custom armor, weapons, and jewelry. The final rank (platinum) is used to purchase heavily controlled rewards that may greatly affect your character; from mounts to real estate within Shal’danil, rewards of this caliber are highly sought after.
(Four of one kind of scrip may be traded in for one scrip of the next rank up. ie. x4 Bronze may be traded in for x1 Silver)
Bronze Gloam-bound Scrip (+1 enchantment)
Silver Gloam-bound Scrip (+2 enchantments)
Golden Gloam-bound Scrip (+3 enchantments)
Platinum Gloam-bound Scrip (used to buy plots of land, mounts and legendary items)
Crafting Armor, Weapons,Trinkets, and Scrolls
When commissioning an artisan to craft a custom piece of equipment three scrips of a kind are required. Items crafted will have the base attributes/abilities of its item type in addition to enchantments requested. With each rank of scrip (excluding platinum) an additional enchantment slot on the item becomes available. The complexity of an item may affect the number of real-life days needed to create it, the formula for this (x•3), where x is the amount of enchantment slots. ie; a bronze level item will take 3 days to make, while a golden level item will take 9. Items created should be added to your character sheet, color the item name to reflect its quality.
You can find more information on our system and an updated version of the loot list/item enchantments (in a cleaner format) here.
The Crescent Moon Herald: (IC Bulletin)
[ Carried by sentinel owls to each member of the Circle of Dusk as well as posted around Olivia’s Pond in Stormwind are elegantly written bulletins on silver embossed parchment. The message reads; ]
Enemy movement has slowed in Shal’danil since word spread of the Hierophant’s arrival. Striking an accord with her long-time ally, Sentinel-Commander Raelin Thornmane, the Circle of Dusk and Shal’danil Sentinels now work side by side; creating the joint military unit known as the Thornmane Sentinels. During this lull in combat, all Circle of Dusk members are encouraged to join Hierophant Mossweaver in Rivermouth, the last standing settlement in the region, by air (however our esteemed magi of the Oghma are currently securing permission for a temporary portal from Stormwind) to avoid ground detection.
All ranking members will be posted within the town walls; prepared to mobilize in case of attack.
Within the ‘Vale of Night’ as it is often called in the common tongue, is years upon years of Circle history. Artifacts, spell tomes, documents on the rites of Dusk…. All collected and stored away in the Grove’s vault. The vault itself is well hidden and only accessible by those who have taken the Oath of Kinship. While it is unlikely that the Horde will be able to find and destroy the vault’s contents, the Circle of Dusk is a shadow of its former self without access to their places of veneration and research.
As of now, the lives of Shal’danil citizens are at stake, sacred ground is being defiled, and our woodlands torched or otherwise torn down to fuel the Horde war machine. From Starlight to Fianna, you are needed! Bear your arms and prepare to take back what is rightfully ours.
- Scribe Moonglow on behalf of Hierophant N’enia Mossweaver
Hierarchy Update!
New Ranks added: Zenith & Auxiliary
An addition has been made to the Circle of Dusk’s member rank and file; updates to our site will be made soon to reflect this change!
Hierophant - Archdruid/GM
Regfiann - Captain of the Fianna
Fianna - Officer
Zenith - Renowned Member
Eclipse - Experienced Member
Crescent - Standard Member
Starlight - Initiate
OOC Ranks:
Void of Course (VoC) - This is a rank assigned to players that have broken a rule in our Code of Conduct which can be found here. Once assigned this rank, more rules cannot be broken during the probationary period, otherwise you will be asked to leave the guild; the same goes for repeatedly earning this rank.
Auxiliary - Guild members may bring alts into the guild, this is a social and OOC rank. If you wish to have an alt become an IC participant in the guild they must go through the induction process as well.
Guild Induction Process:
After a month of membership to the guild (ICly, one full lunar cycle) as well as attending at least one in game guild meeting or event, your character may apply to swear the Oath of Kinship and become a full member of the Circle of Dusk. Once approved, at the next guild meeting your character will be sworn into the Circle as a Crescent. You can find the application format here on our forum.
Discord RP!
Archenon poros! The Auchenai have made Discord a home for their RP.
Gaze of the Auchenai has turned to focus more on organic, storyline based RP as of late. We are a niche guild, and those who take interest in us may not always be online at agreeable times for in-game events.
What does this mean for in-game RP and guild atmosphere?
In-game RP will still exist, as it always has. Though we cannot promise that everyone--or rather, a pleasurable number of people--will be online to attend events hosted by either the GM, the officer team, or other guild members.
A welcoming and pleasurable guild atmosphere is what we are striving for here at GoTA, and within Discord, we aim to make that a reality. We can find time to organize OOC events such as transmog runs and PvP to build a comfortable community within our guild population.
Any other questions will happily be answered by Ravanhi, Dunkori/Unkhra’huun, and Osselor.
Dioniss aca, and happy gaming!
