Sonje graduated from the college of dynamics? That's super cool! Did she struggle to get the school to admit her originally? And what sort of projects does she work on now?

Sonje was born in the Shiverpeaks to a mother thaw as the wife (and by that i mean “basically a slave”) to a Son of Svanir: specifically Kodan’s Bane from the Honor of the Waves dungeon. The intention was that if he had a son he would raise him from birth to be a great Son of Svanir and a champion of Dragon: and if a daughter he’d just present her’s and her mother’s mangled bodies as offerings to Jormag. However, she escaped and made her way back to Hoelbark, at the cost of her and her daughter essentially becoming outcasts due to her previous affiliations.
To make matters work Sonje grew up sickly and bedridden a good chunk of her childhood, also getting her bullied for both being physically smaller than most norn, “weak,” and for being the “daughter of a Son.” Eventually that illness worsened and Sonje’s mother had to take her to Rata Sum for more advanced treatment: and once Sonje was doing better they decided to just stay in Rata Sum. Once in an environment with lots of books and a setting that emphasized intelligence and creativity Sonje found herself absorbing book after book and it became pretty clear even to the asura that she was basically a child prodigy in the making.
It was tough for her and she was initially declined (several times), but I imagined she made something like the VAL-A golem or another kind of golem that won her some recognition and put her on the radar, choosing to join the College of Dynamics despite her age and race and proudly claiming her PHD fairly shortly afterwards. She’s part of a krewe with a focus on Golem development and trying to make more advancements for the Engineering profession! At her mother’s request on her deathbed she recently returned to the Shiverpeaks, so she might be actually trying to do research on the Spirits of the Wild to try to better understand their place in the Eternal Alchemy! But otherwise her research is focused on technological development c:
