I don't know if @guildwuff2 still has Thlayli, but mentioning Characters Should Be Friends just reminded me of this edit I made like 84 years ago on my old blog.
Red Claws Flashing working the docks for @guildwuff2
Also bonus ourfit for her to have in a casual setting. Made sure she had sandles so that she can protect her beans on that hot lions arch concrete
Y’all please look at this handsome rendition of Liath’s mate Cassius Fairweld, as drawn by @guildwuff2. He’s a shortish retired Iron Legion engineer with the best of dad bods, and he loves his giant gruff Blood Legion wife. He’s Avitus’s dad.
Fun fact: Cass lost half his tail to a door he’d been working on well before he met Liath.
hey hey! for the ask meme! #1 for any characters you're favoring atm, i wanna learn more about them ocs 👀 -guildwuff2
OUGH THE FAVORITES alright, so I already answered for Laighe who is Top Favorite Of All Time Always, but the current blorbos who sit on par with her rn are Roi, Cora, Matthias, Charlie, and Call! @guildwuff2
1.Write a basic lowdown of your OC. What's their deal?
ROIEL: Grew up in Cantha as a Kurzick descendent, humble origins of a person who sought to help fight in the Mist Wars. Among the battles she met the love of her life, a Canthan norn names Suko. The two forged a bond both on and off the battlefield, but in 1323 AE (1833 CC) tragedy struck. Suko was killed in battle, and Roi just couldn't handle losing her partner. She took it badly, and sought to rewrite history. Heading into the Fractals of the Mists, she spent 16 long years roaming from fractured past to fractures past trying to find one where her beloved survives. Her efforts earned her a complete melding with the Mists over time, losing herself to the point of not knowing what reality was any more. But her tampering did have a silver lining. Enough fractals were altered that Suko did end up surviving! She was devastated to find out Roi had been lost to her grief in the Mists, the two separated for what would seem like forever. Until EoE, where the Void starts playing with shit an awful lot. And Roi finds herself very suddenly spat back out into Cantha~ She functions as a revenant, aiding in fighting the void, though the spirits she channels are fractured versions of herself. She had planned to get shit done and dive back into the Fractals, but fate dealt her a different hand when she met Commander Laighe. She ends up passing the Commander title on to Roi, who takes it up with great honor.
CORA: I don't have a whole lot on Cora so far, but what I do have is that she's a Commander that comes from humble origins, a commoner in Queensdale who showed great prowess and mostly follows the canonical gw2 story up through around lws4. But by that point, she starts...changing. There's a glow to her that's hard to place, and she tries to hide slowly spreading cracks through her skin. Her voice has a chasm-like echo to it and everything feels charged, like she can sense the energy in it. After a while the cracks grow into fissures, light and energy leaking out and barely keeping form. She stumbles her way back to the golden city of Arah desperate for help from those who she can suddenly feel a connection too inexplicably. It's a long rough process, shedding her mortal form and donning the first new set of Exalted armor to have been forged in decades.
MATTHIAS: Born in a particularly cruel bandit camp, Matthias had a rough life from day one and suffered immensely for his past. He escaped at age 15, though at the loss of a dear friend and loved one who aided in that escape. 10 years were spent on the run, wanted posters touting his bounty everywhere as a loose asset with trade secrets. He eventually sought safety in the Vigil under a false nobility title cobbled together with a mountain of lies. This catapulted him into favor of eventually gaining the title of Commander, alongside a sylvari named Aildyn ( @ascalonianpicnic ) who also harbored a secret past. The two clashed immediately, not getting along one bit and barely holding together enough to run the Pact as a team. But, with enough time, enough threats faced together, and a long PoF trek through both of their hidden pasts side by side...that changes over time. As of EoD, the two are on a very rocky but surefooted road to being loving partners.
CHARLIE: Charlie's story is a simple one, she's not the greatest person to say the least, willingly becoming and enjoying her job as a high class thief. She has devastated and endangered many lives, aided people who've gone on to do far worse, and holds zero remorse for any of it. She's easy enough to get along with though, if you ignore All Of That! And much to her surprise, Commander Mar ( @ascalonianpicnic again lmao) who's been moonlighting as a vigilante on her tail, can in fact ignore all that. A thief and the Commander, imagine that!
CALL: What happens if the destined Commander hits a hiccup in that fate before even being born? Call was to be born a Wyld Hunt valiant, the one who would become Commander. But something went wrong, something glitched. And she was ripped away from the Dream in the blink of an eye. Tore her way out of her pod prematurely because suddenly she was restrained to its claustrophobic walls with no way to hear or feel her family any more. Her siblings in the Grove spent years trying to fix her, rekindle her connection, using more and more extreme options that ultimately hurt her more than provided any help at all. She fled the Grove as another was born to take her place (Mar again, socks' lovely commander~). She spent a long time trying to find a life for herself, a gaping wound where her connection was supposed to be, and a destiny of heroics stolen from her. She's had a chip on her shoulder ever since, and through Events had to eventually actually work with Mar. An event she wasn't at all happy about, nor was Mar. But the two found enough middle ground to get shit done, and have grown to have a mutual respect. When Mar was to retire and ended up dying, they named Call as their successor. She has been a wonderful Commander ever since.
Qirri made a new friend at the Priory, and they are no more successful at curbing her tiny rage than anyone else in her life.
