Speak now, or forever hold your peace!
A flickering candle flame Resilient to the gusty blows of the stormy winds There it was, struggling for its existence. I kept looking at it Unable to decide whether to shut all doors and windows; Or to put my hands around the flame Time stopped in that very moment Like it does every time I need to make a decision So I did NOTHING. My eyes still glued to the inner blue flame It struggled for some time Reasonably long in the face of such a storm And then it succumbed I feel the burden of its death These shoulders feel dull and droopy And the guilt weighs heavy on the heart It died because I could not decide… what to do And yet a decision was made! It was gone. Period.
