“At the park where we used to sit on children’s swings” 💛💙🫶🏻 I don’t draw too often anymore but I decided to take the time to draw these two. :)
In the beginning of S4, we see that Mike has a guitar is his room. He’s most likely been learning how to play in the time that’s passed from S3-S5.
So the idea came to me that since Will and Mike are gonna be paired up together so much this season, what if Mike is going to have to play one of Will’s favorite songs on guitar?
Maybe Will’s walkman breaks and in case he isn’t Vecna’s only target, he might not be able to use anyone else’s. This could cause Mike to have to carry his guitar certain places. If Will is having a possibility of possession, I could see Mike playing one of Will’s favorite songs to get him out of it (Mike would’ve prelearned it since he’s in love with Will 😝) Then we would get a cute byler moment from it when Will’s out of the trance. Something like this:
“You learned how to play ___ on guitar?” Will is looking at Mike with love and admiration, of course.
“What else was I supposed to do? Your walkman is broken.” Mike is nervous here, probably tapping on his guitar to keep himself busy.
“Either you’re a musical genius who knows how to play any song from just thinking of it, or you already knew how to play it.” Will is trying to get Mike to admit he learned the song a while ago, playfully teasing him while doing so.
“Yeah… I might’ve learned how to play it a few months ago, ya know, just in case.” Mike is still nervous but he’s calming down, knowing Will has the basic understanding of why he would learn a song for him.
This part I’m not so sure could happen but it would definitely deepen the byler plot more:
“So did you learn anyone else’s favorite songs?” Will is pushing to know more, hoping this could’ve just been something done for him.
“What?” Why would he do that? Mike is confused.
“Ya know, in case they get targeted by Vecna and something goes wrong with their music.” Will is still really curious to know how much time and thought Mike would put into this.
“Oh! Uhhh, no. There hasn’t been too much time to learn that many.”
A possible add on to this would be “I wanted to learn the important ones first.” But I kinda doubt they would add in a line like that, especially if this scene takes place earlier in the season.
They then proceed to have a long shared look and then probably get interrupted, per usual 💔
This might also just be because I love seeing Finn Wolfhard play guitar 😏 but it would be so cute 😭 and what would be the point of having a guitar in his room if not to show us that he’s learning to play? IF THIS DOESN’T HAPPEN THIS IS ME BEGGING FOR SOMEONE TO WRITE A FIC ABOUT IT!!!! I’d love to call this #guitargate !
