We have plenty of time to talk about the cool little KEIL...but for now I just want to say the servicing job my amp tech @marshalllespaulfan did on the #Traynor is just fantastic. Amp was perfectly quiet but when you turned the reverb up even a little bit there was a buzzing noise...turned out to be a failing tube. Also, I found the rate of the vibrato way too fast so he added a capacitor in parallel, and now it's nice and sloooooowwwww, just the way I like it! This really is the PERFECT amp for me. At the volumes I play at it sounds as good as my 1961 Fender Concert, but it has reverb! Also it cost less than 1/4 the price. What's not to love?😂

It's an all Canadian-made, lazy, couch noodling Sunday at Casa DeeBeeUs™ today, thanks two my two good friends @iamtheosdad and @marshalllespaulfan. . First, Matt loaned me his incredible @frank_brothers Arcade model in aged burgundy mist with Brazilian RW board and a vintage PAF pickup. I can't tell you how nice this #guitar is to play...the craftsmanship is impeccable, it's light af and of course that PAF sounds fantastic. Made in Toronto, Canada. . Second, my amp tech Dom loaned me his 1971 #Traynor #GuitarMate Reverb. As prices on vintage #Fender #amps have climbed into the stratosphere and beyond my reach, I became curious about vintage, hand wired, Canadian-made Traynor amps. I know Skip speaks highly of them on the @vintageampspodcast, they have a great reputation for being built to last. And this thing does not disappoint. More details later it's one of the best sounding amps I've ever heard! . I'm actually glad it's -17⁰ out at the moment because it gives me an excuse to stay in by the fire (i.e. the TV) and noodle on this rig all day! . Thank god for friends. Just an average #Straturday at Casa DeeBeeUs™ with the 2007 #CustomShop sparkle 60 #Relic #Stratocaster & @marshalllespaulfan 's insanely good dual #EL84 1971 @traynor_amps #YGM3 #GuitarMateReverb. . This is the #amp that proves you don't have to spend a fortune to find a #vintageamp that sounds great. Thanks to some relatively inexpensive mods he has created a monster (see @marshalllespaulfan's post a few posts ago for details, but he essentially replaced the lackluster stock 12" Marsland speaker with a @wgs.usa Reaper, adjusted cap values to work better with the new speaker and padded the inside of the closed-back cabinet. He also replaced the 12AX7 in V1 with a #vintage #RCAbackplate, added an adjustable presence control, and changed the value of the cap in the tremolo circuit to slow down the minimum setting). . I don't know what it sounded like before, but the result of these mods is a huge, bassy, full-sounding amp that has tons of headroom, lush reverb, and rich deep tremolo. It's so fat that it really beefs up thinner sounding #Fender single coils so even a terrible player like me sounds halfway decent for a change! . I am keeping my eyes out for one of these and hen I find one I'll have @marshalllespaulfan mod it for me exactly the same way he has done this one. I WISH I had had this amp back in the 90s for my live "career"! .
