a step forward | kotomi + hiyoko
[✄] -- Should she pick it up? Or should she just leave it be?
Kotomi bit on her bottom lip out of genuine apprehensive reluctance as her orchid hues stared down at the pack of gummy bears on the ground then up to the little blonde who seemed to be oblivious to the fact that she had dropped her pack of candies on her way out of the grocery.
Kotomi knew returning those candies was the right thing to do but the very thought of voicing words to the stranger brought a wave of nausea over her. She was never good with people and she was certain that this moment won't change that. What if the little girl accused her of stealing the candy? That was a possibility that Kotomi couldn't possibly brush off.
'However, I would wish for someone to return something that I have dropped. I would be undoubtedly devastated if I lose something I just bought.'
Taking a deep breath and tightening her grip on the grocery bag she had in her hand, Kotomi picked the pack of gummy bears up and hastily advanced her direction towards the petite blonde. "E-Excuse me... you... y-you dropped this..."

Acid Tongue // Touko & Hiyoko
- Touko sighed, grumpily staring at the empty contents of her fridge and pantry. There was cereal, but no milk. She'd depleted her stock of cup ramen and she was pretty sure the only thing in her fridge at the moment was a dead cockroach. Why the critter decided to sneak into her home when she barely had food was a mystery to her, but if it was looking for food then it searched in vain. It took her about twenty minutes of crying for her to finally grab some toilet paper from the bathroom so she could remove the carcass from her fridge and dispose of it in the trash.
Now came another hard task: grocery shopping. It would probably be better for her and the entire world if she simply just stopped eating and died but she found herself in her room, shrugging into one of her overcoats to combat the frigid chill outside and made way to the store. After a consultation with her map and a train ride she managed to finally make it into one of the supermarkets. It was surprisingly uncrowded for such a large store, though she decided it was probably because it was early morning on a weekday. Most people were at work or school and Touko didn't have any classes until much later in the afternoon.
She loaded her hand basket with boxes of microwavable items, even grabbing some instant tea and coffee. Though her basket was overflowing it was pretty light. The type of things she shopped for didn't require heavy packaging after all. With her items now paid for she was out the door and ready to return to her crypt of a home. Unfortunately for her, this supermarket didn't carry the lighter milk and she was forced to purchase the heavier gallons.
And by some twist of bad luck the plastic bags containing the milk ripped, causing the contents to spill out and not only did one land on a particular passerby's foot, but the other milk fell so hard that it burst open, splashing them both with the white liquid. The girl bit her lip and mentally cursed her luck. The girl looked sweet enough and perhaps she wouldn't care. Yeah, Touko knew better than to judge others by their looks.
"I-I'm sorry..!! I'm such a clumsy oaf!" She actually didn't feel sorry for the other so much as she felt sorry for herself and the inevitable verbal abuse she was more than likely to endure. Instead she hoped publicly berating herself would suffice and it could be left at that.
