12. Have they ever had a crush?
More often than she'd like to admit. She can take an interest in someone for the smallest or strangest of reasons, but also lose interest just as quickly. The problem lies in the fact that during the period of time in which she does like someone, she's often completely head over heels for them.
flushed and flustered ⊹ chisaki & kaname
He almost laughed when she shoved the skates at him but decided against it. He had teased her enough in the last few minutes that he didn’t want to push it. He had the rest of the day for moments like that and he kept his amusement to himself, hoping his height and the fact that she was distracted by her skates would prevent her from seeing the way he smiled at her.
Kaname rolled his eyes at her in the warmest way possible before dropping his rental skates onto the ground so he could take hold of her with both his hands, steadying her as best he could, “I’ve got you.” He told her, “Promise.”
He never really thought about it but, if he was being honest with himself, he had to admit that he liked being taller than her, it made him feel like he could be the person she could lean on -literally and figuratively because that’s all he ever wanted to be for the people he cared about. ”I like being tall.” He grinned, “Or - rather, I like being taller than you.”
He didn’t used to be very much taller than her, hell, he’d grown up only being an inch or two taller than her at most, but he really shot up this year and he was only starting to realize how much he liked it.
If Kaname thought that she missed the roll of his eyes, he was sorely mistaken for her pouting only intensified. But before she knew it, he had two hands around her, and her eyes widened at their sudden proximity. His face was so close that she could practically feel the words against her skin, and the word "promise" left her cheeks dusted with a light flush.
With both hands now free, Chisaki leaned over to make quick work of getting her skates on—properly this time. "Most people do, don't ..." she asked, voice trailing off before she could finish her sentence. Her eyes shot up at his cheeky follow-up, to which she added, "what's there to like about that!" Of course she'd always expected their height difference to grow, but to think Kaname would actually go out of his way to bring it up with what sounded to her like a small sense of pride...
"There, all done," she declared after adjusting the laces to her skates one last time. Standing back up straight, Chisaki pointedly looked down at where Kaname's hands were resting against her, and mimicked the action against his sides. Swallowing her unwarranted nervousness, she turned a smile at him with the words, "your turn."
flushed and flustered ⊹ chisaki & kaname
It was funny being able to look down at Chisaki now, but it made it easier for him to shake his head and insist on paying. ”Nope.” He said with an amused grin, “I’m saving that for something else. You can make it up to me later.”
He disappeared as quickly as possible after that, hiding in the crowd and hoping that Chisaki wouldn’t follow after him. The rink was his treat, he’d hold the late thing over her for later. It was always good to keep something like that in his pocket. Not that he ever really made use of things like that.
Despite all the people, the line wasn’t terribly long, and he was done with his purchase relatively soon, returning to the spot he had initially left his oldest friend, automatically assuming that that would be their meeting place.
Of course Kaname would try to pull this again—somehow, it was just like him to tease her in this manner. "What are you saying, Kaname; I can just pay for the tickets and ... wh-what's with that grin, huh?" Somehow, the mention of saving her owed favor for "something else" left her feeling uneasy. "I'm trying to make this a fun day like I promised earlier, so—!"
Alas, by the time she'd turned back to look at him, he'd already disappeared. With a resigned huff, she reluctantly made her way to the skate rental stand with Kaname's money in hand. Well, just because he handed it to her didn't mean she had to use it, right? She could just tuck this money away to buy him something to eat later...
The exchange with the individual manning the skate rentals took no time at all, since she'd already had the sizes figured out and everything. As she was making her way back to the spot Kaname had fled from, she noticed he was back already. Brows furrowed in irritation, she thrust the hand that held his skates forward and brashly offered it to him, tacking on a curt "here. Your skates."
Her eyes scanned the area for a place to sit temporarily, but her search was unfruitful—this was, no doubt, one of the disadvantages of arriving later in the day. Well, it couldn't be helped. "Stay still for a sec?" she asked Kaname, placing one hand on his shoulder. Kicking her shoes off, Chisaki leaned down in an attempt to put her skates on while standing, but found it difficult to reach when her other hand was still up on his shoulder. "You're... too tall," she mumbled, shooting him a small pout.
11. Do they believe in ghosts?
She's not too keen on ghosts, but she thinks the idea of spirits are nice—the difference being that spirits come back to watch over and comfort people.
Breakfast for a hungry soul** Open
The person the boy managed to stumble into was none other than a cute young girl. Allen couldn’t almost believe his luck, if it would have been an older more rugged man. He would have probably gone home with a few bruises. Allen quickly apologized. “I’m really sorry, again… It was my fault for not looking where I was going.” His stomach yet once again let out that awkward noise. He jumped, his face turning crimson.
“Could it be that you’re hungry…?”
"Yeah. I haven’t eaten at all today." Allen responded. "I was just heading out to eat also. My stomach has this sort of a schedule. If I don’t eat at a certain time, it’ll protest." He chucked, trying to lighten the situation the two were currently in. That statement was indeed true. Allen’s schedule was based on the time, he normally got hungry. He had tried to explain this concept to his friends; however, they normally shook their heads in disbelief.
"To say sorry for bumping into you, would you mind if I treated you to breakfast?"
A worried frown had settled on her brows hearing that the other hadn't eaten at all, despite the hour, but it eventually relaxed as he went on. Didn't most people eat around the same time every day? It wasn't particularly strange to get hungry at certain hours ... or so she thought. As a result, she couldn't help but chuckle along with him, adding, "I think most people's stomachs would protest as well if they went without eating."
Honestly, she was a bit taken aback when she was suddenly asked to go out to eat. After all, she was pretty sure most strangers didn't go and get breakfast together after meeting on the streets all too often. However, something just made her think that this person couldn't be a bad person, so after a slight show of hesitance, she decided to take him up on his offer.
"If you'd like, then ... I wouldn't particularly mind, but..." she started, a hand reaching up to fiddle nervously with loose strands of hair. "Do you think I could get your name before we go...?"
"Ah! I'm Chisaki, by the way! I probably should have introduced myself first, huh..."
♨ questions of the weird kind, chisaki&aoba
☇ It was random, yes and Aoba really didn’t know why he did it. But the act was executed and there wasn’t any undo button or control z in the real word. He hoped there was though. Would’ve made life easier and probably easy to erase regrets. Like blurting things out to a stranger.
He stared at the girl for a few seconds, examining her and contemplating the question that was asked in reply to his own question. Individual opinions, huh? Well, he still found Valentine’s day boring and in a whole scale, it wasn’t really… something to fuss about. At least, that was what he thought. “Uhm…” He furrowed his brows slightly. “I guess so. I just find it quite pointless. Christmas, I understand. Today? Nope.” He shrugged his shoulders and wondered why he was explaining himself to a kid.
"Sorry for blurting that out so suddenly…" He scratched his chin, the embarrassed feeling creeping inside him now that he’d said his piece. "Was just talking to myself." Aoba offered the girl a small tight lipped smile.
Chisaki could feel the other's gaze on her—blatantly staring in fact—and it made her a little uncomfortable. However, she tried not to focus so much on being watched by a stranger so much as the individiual's reply. Certainly, compared to Christmas, which could be enjoyed by most anyone, Valentine's Day targeted a very specific group of people. "Well, it is a day that's geared towards lovers..." she hummed, before adding with a laugh, "I suppose without a significant other, it might seem somewhat pointless?"
She could feel the tension leaving her shoulders as she watched the taller boy smile, and she returned one as well. "You were just sharing your opinion; I don't think there's really anything to be sorry about that." After all, she couldn't possibly count the number of times she'd ended up talking to herself as well, lost in her own thoughts... "If it helps though," she suddenly blurted, a hand digging into her bag, "you can have these... but only if you'd like, of course!" In her palm were two round chocolates, wrapped neatly inside a clear bag. "Unless... you're not much of a chocolate kinda guy...?"
10. Do they sing?
She's never taken lessons or anything, but she can hold a tune fairly well! You'll likely find her singing, or at least humming, while washing the dishes or hanging up laundry.

This is the boldest thing Mochizou has ever done. He doesn’t know why exactly he’s doing, but he’s doing it nonetheless. And he should probably know what to expect or something, or maybe he should’ve hashed this out more back home in his bedroom when he got the sudden urge to do something this… this crazy.

As far as Chisaki was concerned, today was supposed to have ended up like any other Valentine's Day. Go to school, exchange chocolates with friends, come back home—that was the way it was every year. After seventeen years of the same ol' thing, she was starting to believe that the holiday would remain this mundane for the rest of her life, at this rate. Or, well ... perhaps that was a bit of an exaggeration, but she'd certainly never thought that this would be the year that thing would go differently.
Chisaki flopped back on her bed and held up the envelope, her eyes tracing the letters scrawled in black. To think she'd get a handwritten letter in this day and age ... Something about it made her lips quirk into small smile. At first, she'd been so certain that the delivery was a mistake. After all, she'd never met the boy who'd handed it to her before; why would he write a letter for a stranger, right?
But that's exactly what he'd done. Written a letter to a stranger—a love letter, in fact, according to the boy, himself. And this was all supposed to be ....
"A wonderful happenstance, huh," she sighed, setting down the envelope once more. Honestly, she would be lying if she said this all didn't seem a tad bit fishy. The run-in, the vague adressee, even the phone number ... but at the same time, she couldn't help but be a little curious as well. This was the sort of thing that she'd only ever happened upon in stories, fictional tales, never reality. But the boy ... though she'd only caught a glimpse, he'd looked nice enough ... and he'd sounded nice enough too, right? Now that she thought about it, she never did get to return his valentine's greeting.
"Alright!" she decided with a huff, sitting up immediately to make a grab for her phone. Unfolding the letter once more, she tapped the number scribbled at the bottom of the sheet into the touchpad, and took one long inhale before pressing 'call.' The dial rang for awhile, and with each tone, Chisaki felt herself growing increasingly nervous that this was a mistake, she was being ridiculous, he wouldn't pick up— but then he did, presumably, as she was suddenly met with silence.
"U- Um ..." Oh god, what was she supposed to say. Her eyes landed on the letter once more, and she quickly decided that a greeting was probably in order. "Hi, Me... It's, um... it's You."
'I think.'

flushed and flustered ⊹ chisaki & kaname
The image in his mind was disgustingly romantic, sunsets, beautiful views, childhood friendships and a coat he’d drape over her but he shoved that out of his brain as quickly as it came. It wasn’t unexpected that he’d be thinking things like this, it was only natural considering the circumstances, but it still bothered him. He just wanted to enjoy a day with his friend.
No ulterior motives, no selfish desires.
"Forty-three in skates." He told her, smiling, the simple knowledge that she knew showing the depth of their friendship. They really had known each other a long time. "They tend to run a bit small, make sure you get at least half a size up too okay?"
He pulled out the money for both the skates, offering it to her, “I’ll grab the tickets.”
'43 already...' It shouldn't have been surprising that Kaname was still growing, considering their age. But as she, herself, hadn't gotten any taller in recent years, their height difference was only getting wider.
With a nod, Chisaki answered, "yeah, I'll make sure to keep that in mind!" It'd been awhile since she'd last visited the rink, but she figured the chances that her size had actually changed weren't very likely. She was getting ready to head over, when Kaname tried to hand her a stack of bills.
"Wh- Kaname! I brought money, it's alright!" Chisaki shook her head and tried to push the money back to him. "If anything, I should be the one treating you since I was late, don't you think?"
The Book Calls ¤ Hajime & Chisaki
[ ¤ ] Hajime blinked as he watched the other panic. Had he done something strange again? He didn’t exactly know what the custom was to greet one another here in Prava. He blinked before giving her a brief nod in response.
"I apologize. I simply meant to introduce myself." He said with a slight shrug. "It would be quite confusing if I didn’t give you my name after all." He had known her name, but he wasn’t sure if the other knew his own name. She didn’t seem to
"Hajime Saito. It’s a pleasure to meet you as well." He said simply, before holding out his hand to the other to shake her own. He didn’t know what the girl was thinking about, but it was rather strange for her to be acting like that all of a sudden. Perhaps she was just a nervous person? That could probably be it, but he didn’t want to make assumptions about people before meeting them.
The subject he was asked to teach was math. Notes would be helpful, but perhaps after they formally met. He didn’t want the other feeling completely awkward with someone she just met. It would be troublesome to do that.
"As for your notes, may I request to view them? We can build from there and try see what you still need help on."
"Ah, of course!" she nodded, taking his hand and giving it a light shake. Chisaki was cringing inside, chastising herself to calm down. She could totally hit it off with Hajime Saito for their tutoring sessions. Hajime was— ... Mr. Saito ... Mr. Hajime, maybe? "Um ... how would you prefer to be addressed, Mr. Saito?" It's best to just ask the person themselves for these sorts of matters, right?
Fumbling with the zipper of her bag, Chisaki retrieved both her calculus notebook and textbook. "I'm sorry my handwriting might be a bit of a mess, but..." her voice trailed off as she flipped through the pages, trying to locate the current chapter she was on. When she reached integrals, she set the notebook down and slide it across the table.
"Derivatives were one thing, but integrals are just... they're a bit of a pain," she laughed, trying to ease the atmosphere a bit.
"Excuse meeee! Yes yes you!" Haru grinned brightly at the girl. "This one is definitely yours!" They offered her a flower "Happy valentines day!"
"E- Eh? For me?" Her eyes widened in surprise, but she gingerly took the flower. She couldn't help the smile that grew on her lips, and she quickly chirped, "thank you!"
Reaching into her bag, she pulled out a small clear bag with two chocolate bonbons inside, carefully tied at the top with a bright ribbon. "It's not much, but ... this is yours, if you'd like. Happy Valentine's Day!"

♨ questions of the weird kind, open
☇ ”Today is…” Aoba narrowed his eyes, pursing his lips. “It’s some special day…” Yes, of course, a special day. But the cares that Aoba usually gave to these kinds of occasions were limited. He wasn’t a romantic - not that much - and he didn’t have time to stop and ogle the city. Things to do, places to go and people to talk to; that was his mantra for almost all of his adult life.
However, today, well— he didn’t really have anything to do. After work, he was free to explore or go take a nap and wake up one hundred years later. That was a possibility but then again… “Hmm, hmm.” He hummed to himself, looking around.
People were looking joyous and that caused Aoba to feel joyous too and just— He sighed, closing his eyes briefly and turned to the closest person to him; then asked, ”Where do people get off celebrating something so mundane?”
It's a rather auspicious day in Prava, or so Chisaki liked to think, with most people in high spirits for the Valentine's holiday. As for her, well, the day felt just like any other, still excruciatingly mundane with quizzes and classes at school, but she could appreciate the excitement buzzing around in the air. She'd given out some chocolate herself, after all, to some close friends and family. Chocolate-making seemed deceptively easy to make, but through the years, the girl found that it was close to an art and science to get it to be just right ...
Now, walking along the sidewalk, Chisaki was on her way home. Though she was facing forward, her mind was distant, contemplating how she would spend her evening now that it was the weekend. With her thoughts so distant, it took her by surprise when a blue-haired individual suddenly struck up a conversation.
"Eh–" she let out, blinking once, then twice for it to sink in that this person was, in fact, talking to her. 'Mundane, huh...' she thought, carefully considering the question. After a moment, she replied with a hum, "isn't it up to the individual, at the end of the day, whether they find it mundane or not?"
