✍ Or since his run had been completed by the time you jumped in, has discovering any extra supplementary material made you reconsider/rewrite any headcanon?
✍ Has new canon material ever forced you to adjust your headcanons? (here’s the post if anyone wants to send me more <3)
//When I first watched the series, I didn’t have any intention of making a RP blog, and it’s only after some extensive research and getting to know that character better that I started considering it (I resisted a lot before doing it X’D).
So mostly, that research run helped me a lot with not starting out with completely ludicrous headcanons, at the very least. But even so, yeah, I have had to modify some of my headcanon, specifically the physiology headcanons I’m making, because I found some new material I had overlooked before. I’m actually in the slow process of changing those, and adding the new info.
Aside from that, I’m always on the look out when the new episodes air, because something might contradict my headcanons in those. Though, well, DW is a bit of a special case, because it’s really not consistent with itself, and it’s less a matter of fitting with canon, as much as deciding which parts of canon to fit with.
Personally, I follow what I can of the TV Headcanons, specifically series 1-4 of NuWho, I take what I come across from TV Classic Who, and I take Moffat era things with a grain of salt and at my own discretion. I mostly disreguard what I see of the books, a bit less for the audio, unless I find them especially interesting. Mostly that’s because I haven’t read them, and some of the things I find a little far-fetched or conflicting with what I had so far (or just plain plot devices, sorry).
One of the headcanon I was especially bummed at having to let go of was my early one that all Doctors didn’t swim. I don’t know why I had it, but I liked it XD Though canon repeatedly proved that wrong, so I tweaked it to be only for the Tenth Doctor, as we never see him swim on the show -w-
