Friday November 6th, Los Angeles’ own Lil Debbie took the stage at one of Center City’s newest venue CODA. Notable for her affiliation in The White Girl Mob, the west coast rapper made it to Philadelphia on the second leg of her Home Grown tour.

Before Lil Debbie hit the stage, she shared the night with a slew of east coast rappers hailing from New York and Philly respectively. Kurt Rockmore of Long Island, New York began the intimate evening full of dance worthy songs and even catchier hooks. His close attention to the crowd and interaction with with the fans made for a radical vibe that set the tone as the concert goers arrived to the show.

Washington D.C. native-turned-Philly powerhouse DJ Gun$ Garcia took her rightful place on stage to spin the tracks everyone can’t get enough of with her own flair. You might know Garcia if you’re an avid South Philly night-crawler; she hosts the now legendary Drake Night at the Dolphin Tavern. Her success derives from her sheer talent paired with intelligent business tactics and solid branding. Garcia’s maturity graces each performance she spins.
Domonique performs at CODA, Philadelphia
Domonique, a young rapper from Brooklyn showered the audience with energy, soul, and bars reminiscent of Tupac, Biggie, and other old school favorites. Her style is full of modern athletic swagger interlocked with hints of 90’s fashion makes for a one of a kind experience. Dominique’s lyricism highlights a talent well beyond her years, and definitely did not fall on deaf ears. The growing crowd of fans swayed along to every song on the young rapstress’ set.

Partnered with a single dancer Lil Debbie invaded the Coda stage with her familiar makeup and fashionable attire that made her a deep internet sensation. The crowd, although young in age, knew every word to even the most obscure deep-cuts that her three EPs had to offer. Her most infamous collaborations comes from the Neon Icon himself, Riff Raff. Their track “Michelle Obama” opened her set and set the mood exactly right for the night that followed. Lil Debbie’s reputation for indulging in vices, paired with her energetic tracks made for a perfect party-like live experience.
